"Delicious crêpes! The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were searching for a nearby spot that offered smoked salmon, and they had a smoked salmon crêpe on the menu. They also had plenty of gluten-free options. We placed our order at the front counter and took a moment to relax. A few minutes later, our crêpe was served, hot and absolutely delicious. We regretted only ordering one crêpe since two of us shared it and left a little hungry. I recommend trying two or three different options! It was enjoyable watching the team prepare the crêpes fresh. There are also several little shops and coffee places nearby, featuring both handmade goods and jewelry."

"We occasionally visit McDonald's, but we've noticed that the orders we place aren’t always what we receive, which can be quite frustrating. With only a limited lunch hour, we often end up spending part of it returning to the restaurant to have our order corrected. Today, the manager at the drive-thru seemed unable to get our order right. Whenever I tried to speak, she interrupted me and wouldn’t let me finish. After a lot of effort, I finally gave up and drove up to the window to place my order directly. This seemed to upset her even more, and she treated my wife and me with a noticeable attitude. In the end, she made a mistake with our order and didn't want to take responsibility for it. Unfortunately, this McDonald's has a reputation for poor customer service in the community. If you're expecting the same level of service you’d find in the Lower 48, you might be disappointed. It looks like we just have to settle for lower standards, and the McDonald's in Ketchikan exemplifies that."

"As we began to order food and drinks, I think the staff quickly realized how much we were spending, and suddenly we received excellent service from everyone in the restaurant. Our server was fantastic—she worked diligently to ensure that we were well taken care of, and we all agreed she did an amazing job. The highlight for me was discovering BBQ chicken with Alabama White Sauce on the menu, something I had previously enjoyed in Alabama. It came with mac and cheese, another favorite of mine. We laughed, chatted, and cherished some family time during our last stop before heading back to Vancouver. Overall, the cruise had been a lot of fun, but having real food on land was a refreshing change after a while of cruise dining. When our food arrived, the white sauce did not disappoint! It brought back memories of my meal in Mobile, Alabama, and I was thrilled to have it again. Everyone else was satisfied with their meals as well, and even though I have a strong aversion to seafood, I at least tried salmon in Alaska, which I didn’t enjoy due to its strong flavor. After settling the bill, the kids were thrilled when a wolf approached our table just as we were getting ready to leave. It seemed tame, but we decided it was best to leave quickly with all the children in tow! Our final amusing moment was in the restroom, where I spotted the best sign ever above the toilet. You’ll have to go see it for yourself; that’s all I’m going to say!"

"We also faced a strange situation where we were told there were no tables available but were directed to the pizza place downstairs, only to be rejected there as well. The staff at the pizza place offered to call the upstairs restaurant to check for availability, and they confirmed they could accommodate us, so we went back upstairs—almost as if they wanted us to "work up an appetite." The wait staff there seemed disinterested in taking our order, which was surprising given the restaurant's nice decor and favorable online reviews. I wonder if they might be under new management or perhaps short-staffed? In any case, the prices do not reflect the quality of service we experienced. After the odd interaction with the long-haired front desk employee, we have decided to explore other dining options in Ketchikan, where the service is much more welcoming and professional."
