we had a date night last night. we called and asked to sit at the bar. when we arrived, there were two places for us at the bar. the hostess, waitress and barkeeper greeted us all, as well as a nice couple sitting at the end of the bar. emily didn't disappoint! she prepared a jalapeno tequila cocktail with spicy tajin on the rock. she even offered to refresh the rim on the second cocktail! that was delicious we had the nuts sprouts, fries and the black scarlet dish. the salmon was underseasonal imo and it was perfectly cooked. we had so much fun. we'll be back when we're in yarmouth!

I recently visited Bistro 233 in Portland, Maine, which is one of my favorite places to be. The experience started off a bit rocky as we waited for about 20 minutes without anyone taking our order. Just as we were about to leave, my husband noticed that there was only one waiter serving all the tables. Despite being overwhelmed with 13 tables, the waiter was incredibly pleasant, apologetic, and took our orders promptly. The oysters, fried calamari, shrimp cabanara linguini, hummingbird cake, and martinis that we ordered were all excellent. The fried calamari was especially the best we've ever had.
