"Recently, there was a Facebook post on the Gloucester 411 page complaining about the dismal food culture in the area. Admittedly, I found it hard to disagree..... outside of two exceptions YROC and Sal's! I visit Gloucester Point every few weeks. And each and every time I am in town, I make a point of ordering something from Sal's. The bottom line: the food is delicious. Whether you are getting one of Sal's phenomenal pizzas or one of their entrees, it is all good. I have genuine trouble deciding between the white and the margherita because both are so incredibly delicious and well executed. Earlier, I had mentioned entrees. Sal's pasta and manicotti? Divine. Do you want to taste something prepared and cooked with love? Try their calzone, panzerotti, or pasta. It is beyond delicious. End of story? Sal's is phenomenal. Whether you are getting a salad, pizza, or other delightful dish everything is simply fantastic."

"I placed a Web order and was given a pickup time for about 50 minutes later. I know this place is popular and therefore usually busy at dinner. However, when I arrived, I had to wait another 45 minutes! After 20 minutes, I asked the hostess if there was a problem. She said it wasn’t ready. 10 minutes after that, I asked again and she said my order was just going in. The hostess was matter a fact and offered no apologies. She said they had a lot of chicken orders. I would like acknowledgement that the web app time is not accurate. I’m tired hungry and a bit angry that they didn’t even try to make me feel better about waiting 45 minutes longer than the estimated wait time. And the chicken was not as good as I remember. In the future, I’ll stick with Scoot’s pulled pork which never disappoints. Unless I have another excessive wait time."

"This place is great, very rustic and older looking. I not sure when the place was established, but it does look like it's been there a while. The food was awesome, I actually ordered a medium burger and that's what I got. The problem I get when I order medium burgers is they usually get cooked well done. Very irritating. Has an excellent view of the York River out the front window. A very good experience."

"The food here is authentic, with all the kitchen and waitstaff hailing from Sicily. The Margherita pizza features a perfectly crisp crust paired with fresh homemade sauce. The handmade gnocchi is served with a delicious mushroom sauce and topped with pecorino Romano cheese, providing just the right amount of creaminess. The service is incredibly attentive, with the staff being highly responsive to every customer's needs. The sign is quite unassuming, with "Pizzeria" being the most prominent part, so it’s easy to overlook. If you're in Hayes, VA, be sure to input "Tony and Milena" into your GPS to avoid any confusion. I also want to mention that the restrooms are impeccably clean and well-maintained. Instead of paper towels, they offer rolled cloth ones in a basket, and there isn't a hint of unpleasant odor, which clearly reflects their attention to detail. This place is definitely worth the drive from Tabb, VA!"

"It's rather unfortunate to be the one person that shares a bad review out of hundreds of good reviews. We came here based on all the great reviews! Maybe our taste buds are a little uppity, but there was absolutely nothing special about our sushi roles. Each role tasted the same, and they all tasted kind of bland. No spice, no flavor...nothing. The service was great and we had a very friendly waitress, so that was a plus. They need to be very careful what they play on the TV...lots of nudity and there were little kids in the restaurant. Hibachi might be worth a try next. Sushi is nothing to write home about."
