Captain George's Seafood

I visited on Working Women Wednesday, and it was such a great experience! There was live music, giveaways, and even a masseuse! The food was hot and fresh throughout the evening, and the service was exceptional.

This place is a must for dinner while vacationing. I've also been to their Myrtle Beach location. Very family friendly. Lots of seafood choices. The fried oysters are great! If ya leave and aren't full, then ya did something wrong.

Delicious seafood to-go during a busy week! The salmon was a great portion (the rice was bland though), the scallops, peel and eat shrimp, crab dip, and shrimp pasta were all delicious! You could tell it was fresh and even though we ordered to-go, everything still tasted delicious! Great job to the staff!

I would never go here again. The hostess was rude at the front. It started the night off badly. Then they wouldn’t give us any menus and said they are a buffet. Finally we got menus they asked how many we needed for our party of fifteen. As if they don’t have enough. I don’t know lady just give us some menus! Lol the food is not great. I would definitely skip this place and go to my usuals on my next trip. My family lives down there and picked this place because it could accommodate a larger party but yikes terrible service and food!

I was surprised by the variety of food served at their HUGE buffet. They offered “all you can eat” for $45 and it would have likely been a bargain for a hungry diner. I was not that hungry so I settled for a side salad $7) and shared a pound of peel and eat shrimp that were deveined, steamed and seasoned $25). The facility was the largest eating establishment I have been to in recent memory. They can move a lot of people quickly, can accommodate large groups and keep fresh food on their buffet. Waitstaff was awesome, the restaurant and buffet areas were clean and well appointed. We ate at the original Captain Georges in VA Beach about 20 years ago and the quality of the food matched the price; Not at this location. The crab legs did not crack, in fact they just bent in half. I suppose they were over steamed. The beef on the bar was sub par sirloin with no flavor and appeared to be boiled. Salad bar offerings were very limited. Not many vegetables on the sides bar, I counted 5. 1 bar of steamed seafood and casseroles and 1 bar with fried seafood. Desserts were delicous. Disappointed at the offerings considering the price.

We should have decided against dining here once we saw that a buffet was being served. My wife and I hardly ever dine at such places. Further,I wished we had known the price of the buffet before we were seated. To our dismay, the buffet was priced at $49.99 per person. There was no way we could eat enough to justify this price. We ended up ordering from the menu of appetizers. The she crab soup, on a scale of 1 to 10, was a solid 4. The fried oysters were good but the accompanying french fries were cold and soggy. My wife had the salmon salad which was fair however the salmon was good. With two ice teas, our bill excluding a tip was $56.01. At this price I believe there are other places that...

This place has a TON of delicious seafood. All you can eat right at $50 a person. There were multiple kinds of crab legs, shrimp, fish, oysters, clams…anything you can think of, plus non-seafood dishes, salad and desserts. Bring your appetite! Nothing we ate was bad. We got on the waitlist and we’re told 30-45 minutes but it was actually less than 20. It’s VERY crowded inside. The only downside was our waitress. She brought our drinks and we never saw her again. Well, not at OUR table. We were pretty well ignored by her. I had to flag down another server to get a drink refill.
