"I’ve been to India a couple times and have to say, this is one of the best authentically Indian restaurants in the city I’ve been to. The place is small and simply decorated but it’s all about the food and friendly service here and that’s where it really shines. Some of the dishes they have you wouldn’t find at most other Indian restaurants. The chicken PB 35 was a new one for me but such a beautiful marriage of flavors. And for other more typical dishes like saag paneer they give it their own spin preparing in that case a wonderful, almost rustic home style version that’s both familiar and new. My only small complaint was that the fish curry was a tad on the salty side, but the flavors were still very much on point. I’ll be back!One final note They don’t serve alcohol but a sign on the door says they allow BYOB if you care to bring your own. Another plus in my book!"

"This Italian deli is my favorite spot to go to, never failing to impress me. Their selection of cold cuts is top-notch, and I always make sure to grab some prosciutto along with their delicious bean and potato salad, fresh bread, and other Italian dishes. The service is exceptionally friendly, with staff who remember your name, which is rare these days. The prices are very reasonable considering the high quality of the products. I find myself stopping by at least once a week - that's how much I love this place!"

"From the moment I walked in the place smelled amazing. Not only the smell of baked goods was in the air but the coffee too. I could hear the staff take care of some regulars and strangers and you could tell they were genuinely taking care of them and they were also efficiently communicating to get everyone in and out. My almond milk iced coffee was incredible and my egg sandwich was fresh, crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Love it. "I visited Hoja Santa on a hot August night and noticed there was no air conditioning inside, plus there was an unpleasant smell upon entering. The service, however, was excellent—the waiter was very attentive. Prices were reasonable; with two entrees, an appetizer, and two drinks, my bill came to $90 including tip. The shrimp tacos were fantastic, but the enchiladas were overly salty—I even had trouble sleeping afterward. Despite the saltiness, I kept eating because I was so hungry. Overall, I believe there are better spots in Astoria where you can spend $90 and enjoy better food with air conditioning."
