Great local neighborhood restaurant in Punta Gorda. Friendly Bartendars and owners. Super good food and drinks.

We've NEVER had a bad experience here. We come to Punta Gorda FL every summer and this place is a must visit for us. The Chef is always willing to fix any fish to our dietary needs and the wait staff are courteous and fast.

Ambiance was warm shabby chip and calmly elegant. Food selection was limited for lunch but decent priced, it did take a long time but was very good. While the host was very welcoming our server was cold and took forever for everything outside of collecting our credit card I'm disappointed to report. Ver carta

We had a party of 9 and they handled it with no problems. Zach, our server was outstanding and all the good was above and beyond excellent! I had the braised short ribs. All the food was DELICIOUS! Service was EXCELLENT! Staff were all professional, friendly and knowledgeable! You simply have to go there and experience it for yourself. Check them out!

Delightful find in Punta Gorda. Quality food and service. Plenty of great menu choices for all diet considerations. We were waiting to pick someone up at the airport, took a little walk through downtown, which was decorated for Christmas, when we found F.M. Don's with indoor and outdoor tables. Escargot and mussels were wonderful with homemade crispy baguettes.

Decent Escargot delicate and tasty smallish portion, calamari, sharable portion but large soggy rings not crisp, Thai chili and pickled veggies was Ok. Shrimp and grits a fine dish, pork chop cooked well, tender, said comes with butter beans looked more like cannelli beans, roasted Brussels sprouts and kale over done. Nice surprise with a N.Y. State Finger Lakes Reisling, good price by the bottle. Service was good. 2 appys, 2 entrees, bottle of wine, tip, tax $140. Ver carta

Wasn't busy at all, so social distancing was not a problem. Waiter was friendly. However, when I placed my order I specified I wanted my Burger very well done. When I cut into my burger is was rare to medium rare. Couldn't get his attention because he was talking to another customer. Finally the hostess came by and we asked her to get our waiter, but she addressed the issue. When sandwich was returned my plate had the same food on it. This is the first time I have received the exact same food returned. Usually when food is returned you have fresh food, not partially eaten. Will have to think about a return visit.

The restaurant was quite empty, so there was no issue with social distancing. The waiter was friendly, but when I placed my order, my burger didn't turn out well. It was undercooked, with a rare to medium-rare center. I had trouble getting the waiter's attention because he was busy chatting with another customer. Eventually, the hostess came by, and we asked her to find our waitress to address the issue. When my sandwich was returned, to my surprise, it was the same food, which had been partially eaten. This has never happened to me before; usually, returned dishes come back fresh. I'm not sure if we will return for another visit.

Our experience at F.M. Don?s was beautiful. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food tasted great (although the presentation was something to wish) and did not take long to get to the table. The atmosphere was bright, open and relaxing. We went for brunch and enjoyed our food. The crab Benedict contained a ton of crab, and the fried egg was perfectly boiled. The brioche french toast was not too sweet and the thick cut bacon was a perfect, hearty compliment. The children fish and chips were by far the most tasty.
