Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken

I always make it a point to try new restaurants nearby, and the one in Knoxville was always my go-to because they were consistently great. Now, I am excited to start exploring this new place. Great job!

Their chicken is delicious and moist! Fries and okra are the sides for me. The greens and potato salad on the sweet side and the baked beans taste more like pork and beans. Mac n cheese definitely not a hit. The staff was very friendly and engaging.

I absolutely enjoy the slight spicy taste of the chicken! 4 stars on the food and 5 on the service. The only knock on the food was that parts of the chicken were overcooked/ dried out a bit. Mac and cheese and fries were excellent, friends enjoyed the okra. Ver carta

I had a great experience dining at this restaurant today. The greens were too salty and the mac 'n' cheese was cold, but the fried chicken was delicious! The atmosphere at this location was very quiet and the staff was exceptionally friendly. I definitely plan on returning in the future.

I placed a takeout order through their app on the website, but they still seem to be working out some issues—I wasn’t notified when my food was ready. The chicken was fantastic. I only ordered a snack, and I would have preferred a biscuit or cornbread instead of the white bread that came on the bottom, which I guess is part of their style, though it's not my favorite. Despite that, I would definitely return.

My go-to spot for fried chicken. Macaroni is excellent here too. The chicken has excellent seasoning in the breading. Always moist and delicious. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Once I got a sad little drum stick that was burnt and dried out and had no meat on it, and they brought me a replacement with no fuss or muss. Always enjoy eating here and definitely recommend this spot. You can never have too many Gus cups in your cupboard! Ver carta

This local restaurant is a gem with delicious spicy chicken cooked perfectly. The level of spiciness was just right. The sides were also tasty. The menu was a bit limited, but if you're here for chicken, you won't be disappointed. I tried the wings and could have used another to satisfy my hunger. I enjoyed the charming downtown location. The service was excellent. Don't forget to save room for their delicious pie! Parking can be tricky, especially for larger vehicles like trucks.

I recently discovered Gus's restaurant when I was browsing on DoorDash and decided to give it a try. I ordered the white meat (3 pieces) with a side of baked beans and roasted okra. The order arrived earlier than expected, was complete and accurate, and was well packaged for delivery. The chicken was crispy on the outside, well-seasoned, and had a nice hint of warmth that added to the overall flavor without overpowering the chicken. The meat itself was tender and flavorful, with a subtle smoky tomato taste. The fried okra was also delicious. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back for another delicious chicken lunch. Highly recommend!

07/08/2022 update. Felt like I was greeted with love!! However, the back office needs to hear this. The chicken has changed. The food is going down. I tried to give it another try. Or maybe I came too late in the evening. Everything below still applies. But even worse I got some wings because I never had them here. Girllllll. Check out the pictures.
