"We just went to the Iron Skillet tonight for dinner and I can't say enough about this place!!! We loved it, this is good home cooking at its very best. Let me start from the beginning. We drove up and saw the Sign The Iron Skillet and pulled into the parking lot. Being a New Yorker I always appreciate a restaurant that has parking on the premises. We got out of the car and saw this big white large older house. We went to the door and Bob greeted us. Bob is the owner and Chef. Walking into the dinning room is like walking back n time to your grandmas house. I just loved all the older items in The dining area. The Iron Skillet does not serve liquor but you are welcome to bring your own, you can by wine from one of the local vineyards on your way to the restaurant. The restaurant handles 12 people per night and this is understandable as the food is made with love. There are some special order items on the menu. We preordered the stuffed mushrooms and they were fabulous!!! We also preordered the shrimp francese, we did not have to preorder the dish we just chose to. My friend started with the barley soup and loved it. We each had the mushrooms, the presentation on the plate was wonderful and the visual was outdone by the taste. So good, if I could have eaten the plate I would have!!! Then came the main event the shrimp francese with rice and broccoli. The shrimp was so delicious, the sauce was fabulous. I love shrimp and never had shrimp francese that was this good! The rice was delicious and so was the broccoli. I am not a broccoli lover but I loved this broccoli. It was such a pleasure to meet Bob, he was so nice and spoke so lovingly of his food creations. We will certainly be back. My next order will be the pot roast!!! I would implore anyone going to the North Fork of g Long Island to go to the Iron Skillet."

this place is a gem can't believe somebody actually gave it a 1 star....stay over on the south fork. It's a no frills place and like others have said it's like dinner at grandma's. And a great value too

I'm a good, cook, but these guys are the best. Looking for nouvelle cuisine? Go somewhere else. Looking for top notch, consistent, competent cooking with fresh ingredients, this is your restaurant. Perfect seasoning, cooked enough but not too much, impeccable service. Leave one table for us.

We had an unforgettable experience! Bob and Maryann are the most humble and gracious hosts. The meal was absolutely fantastic. It featured the best tomato soup and penne al vodka we've ever tasted! The pot roast and tuna were also outstanding. It truly felt like having dinner at a neighbor's house. Without a doubt, this was the most unique and enjoyable experience of our trip to the Island. Had called for reservation and they were booked for the whole weekend, were very disappointed. On our way to another restaurant we decided to stop by just incase someone canceled and were in luck they had room for us. Very unique atmosphere, warm and cozy just like Grandma's dinning room with the old hutch filled with all kinds of dishes glassware. Though the menu is limited the food was excellent you must try the soup the best we had in a very long time. The only issue we had was we had to wait a very long time for each course so bring your wine so the wait won't be so bad.

like walking back in time . Open door feel at home come on in and enjoy the best food you could imagine. Every thing is home made with love and it shows. The roasted red pepper soup was to die for. We couldn't have had a better home cooked meal .You Have to have reservations ,we were lucky just stopped in and had a canclation so we were able to enjoy this great place. Wanted to make resverations for another night but we're all booked up and waiting list already. They only have 4 tables so be sure to call and make resverations you won't be sorry. Also you can bring a bottle of your favorite wine and they don't charge a corkage fee . Be sure to leave room for dessert. Can't wait to go back som...

I am officially in love with Iron Skillet. You can look up the places history in a NYT piece, but suffice it to say, this place rocks. It's 12 seats four tables and that's it. Reservations are best a couple of weeks in advance, as dropping in is just not an option. Everything on the menu is amazing my favorites are Crab Cakes and Pot Roast. Bob and his partner make a great host/server/chef/team. Don't pass on dessert and if they have the Strawberry Shortcake, order it! It's not like anything else you've had before. Amazing... It's BYOB so come with your own wine or beer or soda (they will provide a glass) and enjoy a home style experience with food that will just make you want to come back t... Ver carta

I hesitated to give a poor review. I don't wish to put down anyone's business so I give this an average rating to balance out the lackluster food with the unusual atmosphere. Similar to the review titled Peculiar. you come here for the experience. The owner Bob is a delight with his friendly attitude. Very tiny restaurant that serves only a few diners at a time. And that is also how the service progresses, a few diners at a time. Be prepared to wait. It is also BYOB which works out well and keeps the cost down. They offer both fish and meat options. I recommend you ask that both are cooked well. It is like eating in someone's home with the coziness of an old farm house that could use a littl...

Quirky can sometimes be a code word for something negative, but in this case, it 's just the opposite. The food is outstanding. Don 't let your first impression discourage you. From the outside, you might think it 's just an old house. But it 's a gem. The dining area is small just a few tables. Our family visits every year on our annual vacation on the North Fork and the 5 or 6 of us take up half the dining room. But every single thing we order is outstanding. The beef barley soup, corn chowder and crab bisque are all amazing; the gyoza appetizer and stuffed mushrooms terrific. My favorite entrée is the pot roast good old fashioned, fork tender Sunday supper. My son is a huge Italian food l...

"If you're a donut lover like I am, you absolutely need to check out the North Fork Donut Company, known as NOFO DOCO. From the instant I walked in, I realized I was in for a delightful experience! First off, the freshness of their donuts is unparalleled. It's clear that they take immense pride in making these delicious treats from scratch each day. In comparison to other donut shops I've visited, the offerings at NOFO DOCO stand out as truly exceptional. Each bite is a burst of flavor that leaves you craving more. One of the most remarkable aspects of NOFO DOCO is their generous portion sizes. These donuts are massive, and I mean really big! You definitely get your money's worth, and the size alone makes them an indulgent treat. Whether you're treating yourself or wanting to share with friends and family, their donuts are perfect for any occasion. Now, let's discuss their innovative creations. The idea of putting cereal on a donut is pure brilliance. It adds a delightful crunch and an additional layer of flavor that elevates the whole experience. Among their many tempting options, I highly recommend trying the Samoa Donut. It features the classic flavors of caramel, chocolate, and coconut, creating a dreamy combination that will transport your taste buds to paradise. Whether you indulge in the Samoa Donut or explore their other enticing choices, you won't be disappointed. NOFO DOCO is a paradise for donut enthusiasts, and I can't wait to return for another delicious treat. Happy donut indulgence!"
