J Alexander's - Carta

Wonderful food and excellent service. Always my first choice for a business lunch is J Alexander’s.

The service and atmosphere were pleasant. However, the quality of the food in relation to the price was very disappointing. The dishes were overly salted, the walleye special was dry, and the broccoli had a fishy taste. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

I ordered the ribeye steak with mac and cheese, and my friend had the pork chops with mashed potatoes. It was excellent! The sauce on the pork had a nice level 2 spicy kick and was delicious. We also started with the crab salad sushi, which was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly to a medium temperature. We will definitely be returning! Ver carta

Get here before last call for food at 9pm. Cause if you Got a taste for pork! Go here. Then have the bar tender hook you up with a liquid asset to top it off. I just had a #Manhattan and something else delicious. The service was fantastic abs the wait wasn't to bad considering the new seating arrangements. Reasonably priced for dinner for one or two.

In the past we enjoyed our meals in both restaurants without complaints. However, our last visit was not the standards in the past. Our Prime Rib dinner was a fight to say the least. We got a knife to not cut our meat a steak knife. It was like seeing a piece of wood. After our meal, the manager spoke to us and a certificate to cover part of our meal costs. The price of our meal together with the service made this a very disapointing anniversary dinner.

We asked for bread as we were considering what to order for our meal. Our server said he could bring us some sourdough bread. Long story short, he apologized 4 times for there being no bread, said the kitchen was making it. As we finished our meal we still had no bread. It's hard for me to believe that the could not make a loaf of bread in 40 minutes. In terms of ambiance, we sat outside and witnessed what appeared to be illegal activity in the parking lot next to the porch. Ver carta

Our Prime Rib dinner was quite difficult to eat, as we were provided with a serrated knife instead of a steak knife. It felt like we were sawing through a piece of wood. After our meal, the manager did speak with us and gave us a certificate to partially cover the cost of our meal. The high price of our meal coupled with the subpar service made this anniversary dinner a disappointment.

The manager came out and explained (understood) that if I had another ribeye, it would be from the same piece of beef so recommended to get something else.
