Salt - Carta

New Year's Eve at Salt was spectacular. The food was excellent and my husband and I had a great time.

Server felt like they were rushing us despite plenty of open tables. The food was only okay, certainly not worth the prices charged.

Over all the four entrees and two starters were very good. The only complaint was the brioche bun for the hamburger fell apart and got soggy. Ver carta

Birthday Dinner was marginal dessert was great. Waiter could care less if we were there. Gave no suggestions when we asked. He could have been having a off day just sayin overall experience was not the best

This terrific restaurant in the heart of Boulder has a well balanced menu, delicious food, and two different scenarios in which to enjoy it a vibrant upstairs, and a quieter downstairs. Service was excellent. Ver carta

The special request we wrote in and spoke about was not accommodated (even tho this was a question asked of by open table/the restaurant), the food was absolutely delicious, perfect timing as well, the server may have been new? But was not at all knowledgeable about the food or drinks being served that night, she wasn’t able to answer any of our questions on it, however she was very nice and attempted to find answers. The drinks, esp wine , were overly expensive.

I guess with a name like SALT you can assume that the food will be overly salty? Such was the case with the cod dish. It was pretty much just an extremely salty and overcooked piece of fish in a salty tomato broth with some white beans. The Brussel sprouts were sad and soggy and much too sweet. The fries were undercooked but the homemade ketchup was nice. The drinks and servers were nice, but this is not a five or four-star restaurant. It is more like a bar trying to serve good food. Both of us left wondering why this place has such good reviews.

Excellent establishment with usually superb food, but this one was a huge miss. Gnocchi were burnt, NYE menu was misprinted and misrepresented dessert items that came to table not as advertised, server didn’t introduce themselves but kept asking every 5 minutes what we wanted for the next course and hardly gave us a chance to enjoy our meal. Longtime fan of SALT and drove an hour through the snow for dinner but after being placed in their basement and repeatedly pressed for food orders that turned out mediocre by their standards, this was a disappointment. After this experience, seriously reconsidering returning or recommending to others. Ver carta
