"Very mixed experience. First, the good: nice ambiance (all/the majority of their seating is covered and outdoors , the tables for larger parties are spacious and well appointed (blankets and plentiful heaters . The food was pleasant enough the squid ink risotto had the right texture and flavor, although the clams were a bit of a challenge to deal with (no bowl for the shells, no extra napkins for the black ink stained hands, etc. . Which brings me to the bad part of the night: the service. First of all, at this price point, while you might think it 's charming/rustic to leave a bucket full of cutlery/paper napkins on the tables for self service, you (the restaurant should make an effort to make certain it 's replenished appropriately, and that silverware is replaced as needed between courses. There was no effort to reset the table between the appetizers and the entrees, or to bus it. We had stacks of dishes piled up at various points, and our server could have cared less about that. She was not rude, but she was maybe something even worse indifferent. When the much vaunted 18 percent that 's not a gratuity padded check came to the table, our group was confused about whether we were expected to tip on top of it, but since we couldn 't locate our server to inquire, we weren 't encouraged to pile another 20 percent on top of $450 of additional charges (yes, the food is overpriced for what it is, as the photos demonstrate the portion sizes, other than on the pasta dishes, leave a lot to be desired; but hey, that 's L.A. for you . Last but not least: we tried to inquire before dinner whether we were allowed to bring a bottle for a corkage fee, but we couldn 't get through to a live person on the phone. When we showed up for our reservation and asked at that time, the host barked at us NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGE! Okay, we were just asking, sir. No need to be harsh about it. Many restaurants do allow corkage this one does not. It would be great if they would put that info on their website, ahem."

Great food but will not be returning after I paid the bill and then realized I'd left a 20% tip when they'd already added an 18% service fee without telling me.

The restaurant has an intimate atmosphere, but I found the pasta to be underwhelming. On a positive note, the complimentary bread was fresh and warm. However, the lasagna was quite small and lacking in flavor, and the pesto with potatoes was similarly bland. The linguine with clams tasted watered down to me. While the service was attentive, I would recommend skipping the food altogether.

The food, ambiance, and service here are amazing. Such a gorgeous setting for a date night or slightly more upscale dinner. The pasta I ordered was the squid ink and it was divine. Messy but worth it. The appetizers including salads were a little on the smaller side and weren't anything to write home about. Finished the meal with tiramisu that was very enjoyable. Would definitely return!

Went on valentines day so service was probably slower than usual but the food was good! Pretty average in my opinion but certainly good. caprese was typical boyfriend liked his lasagna but the serving was a bit small for him i got the gluten free pasta with shrimp and asparagus. The asparagus honestly tasted like frozen/bagged asparagus which was a bummer but it was still good! very cute ambience. parking can be tough but we parked at gelsons and it was fine! Ver carta

A 20% service fee that also was added on the tax (which is illegal) is what utter rudeness we were affronted with at the end of an otherwise pleasant meal. The server really was lovely and i felt bad they had to deal with this awkward exchange. All menus must state this service fee beforehand and again doing this on top of tax is illegal. I am sad because the food and service were amazing but this shady practice means not only will i never return i will tell my friends not to either. Farfalla, michelangelos and la pergoletta are all far superior options if your in the mood for italian in the area.

The food at this restaurant is truly memorable, especially the mushroom risotto, which was absolutely delightful. The service was also solid with no issues. However, I gave it 3 stars mainly because of the excessive 18% service fee that was added to the bill. When we asked the server if this fee replaced the gratuity, she mentioned that the staff is well-compensated and that additional tips are welcome, which didn’t really clarify anything for me. I really dislike this trend of automatically adding a service charge and then expecting a tip on top of it. It also felt a bit sneaky that the 18% fee was calculated on the tax amount, something I only realized after I got home and did the math. Th...

I was really looking forward to this , but I was left a little disappointed Ambiance Not bad, we were outside however it was incredibly warm in Jan due to all the heaters. Food I ordered the seared ahi tuna on arugula and the tuna was dry and bland and after eating half of it I just abandoned it. It really wasn 't worth the calories. Others in my group had the pasta and they also didn 't enjoy it. Service we were a group of six and they forgot to put the order in for one of the people in my group. We had already waited an hour and twenty minutes for our food. They placed his order again and his food didn 't arrive for another fourth minutes. Honestly, what was meant to be a pleasant outing w... Ver carta

This restaurant has some of the rudest and most disrespectful staff in Los Angeles, and if you've been to LA, you know how high that bar is. Upon entering, there's no waiting area, and the staff dismisses you while you awkwardly stand in the middle of the restaurant waiting for assistance. This is the third consecutive time I've come here with a reservation, and they've taken over ten minutes to locate it each time. You couldn't feel less welcomed. Additionally, the staff is nearly impossible to find during your meal, forcing you to flag them down for any kind of service. They also have a no-wine policy (even for corkage fees), and when I inquired about this, I was told that it’s a private e...

Let's start by saying if you don't know it's there, you'll miss it right in front of your face. when you get there you'll know what I'm talking about. Great for a romantic dinner or meeting up with friends, this place is it. This cute little restaurant serves some great Italian dishes. The pasta is cooked to perfection. When you sit down they serve up some delicious bread with two different tomato based spreads. Who doesn't love bread when you're looking at a menu and choosing a nice glass of wine (or two) to have with dinner. The lamb chops are always my favorite but I have indulged in the rigatoni a time or two. My friend had the lasagna which she loved. And another had the linguine with c...
