one of my favorite restaurants for years. can not comment other visitors negative experiences, always had great meals each time we visited. would recommend to everyone!

It’s what downtown LFK needed…delicious Italian food with great service that won’t make you feel ripped off when you get the check. The atmosphere is welcoming and elegant, too!

A cozy lovely restaurant. We had reservations, they fill up fast I was told and I could see while we were there, they were quite busy. The food was delicious and plentiful, a bit different than the typical Italian fare, probably more authentic. I would definitely eat there again. Ver carta

Basilikum is fantastic! We enjoyed excellent service and delicious meals in a cozy, intimate setting. For dinner, I had the mac and cheese, meatball appetizer, and Caesar salad, followed by tiramisu cheesecake for dessert. Everything was absolutely delightful! I highly recommend coming here to try their food.

I picked this place for my birthday dinner this year and was really excited to splurge on a nice dinner. Despite being from Lawrence, I’d never tried Basil Leaf. The food was incredibly salty, to the point that it was nearly inedible. I didn’t even want my leftovers, which I had a lot of because the food was incredibly dense and filling.

We got take out from the Basil Leaf Cafe last night. It was hot and delicious. I got the chicken tenders and they were cooked really well. My husband got the tortellini and that was good, too. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the risotto could have been a bit better, however maybe that was due to it being take out. We will definitely be dining in soon, so I may need to update my review. Ver carta

What a fantastic experience! I'm not sure what made it so comfortable—the cheerful staff, the open kitchen, or the delightful aromas wafting through the air—but there was an incredible atmosphere the moment I walked in. I usually stick to the basics, but when a place does something extraordinary, I feel compelled to indulge. I ordered a simple Caesar salad, and what was presented to me made me question whether I had ever truly experienced a Caesar salad before. I can't recommend this place highly enough!

We went out for dinner the other night and had a wonderful experience! Our waitress was fantastic with our kids. When my oldest mentioned that she loved doing the maze on the children's menu, the waitress kindly went off to print three more mazes for her! My daughter can be a bit picky, as many young children are, but everything on the kids' menu was something she enjoyed. The portions were generous and everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and our food arrived quickly. We’ll definitely be back next time we're in town!

This was our second attempt to eat at The Basil Leaf, the first time we didn’t realize they required reservations. The ambiance was cozy on a cold/rainy day and our waiter was cheerful and prompt. The food arrived quickly, mere minutes after the appetizer and salad. There wasn’t enough room on our two-person table. The food was just okay. Way too salty and at the same time flavorless. The bruschetta was disappointing. It didn’t have the usual zing of the balsamic vinegar reduction and they weren’t served with appetizer plates, so we ate them over paper napkins which felt strange at a nice restaurant.
