Brooks' House of Bar-B-Q

It had been Is over a decade since I was here last. It was even better than I remember. I wondered if it would be the same because of covid and everything else.The food is excellent. The layout is good and and the way you receive your trays and food works.It's a little different style but I love this place.

these youngs have just made a function for my job. wowthey are worth every penny. the hunch is so juicy and has the right amount of chary. the bbq pulled pork was so perfectly spiced and delicate with the crispy caramelized burning. the makkaroni and cheese was the creamy and so goodall the sides are great. We stopped for lunch, they weren't busy when we arrived, but upon leaving they were getting busy. The staff was friendly and helpful, they place was clean, and the staff was always cleaning tables, sweeping floors. The food was very good, and the amount of sides you got was worth the money. I came here for dinner based on a colleague's recommendation, and was super happy that I did! They apparently recently reopened their indoor dining after having been takeout-only for much of the pandemic, and the tables are appropriately spaced out and cleaned regularly. They give you a pager to let you know when your food's ready. Due to this recent indoor reopening, I get the feeling that the ambiance used to be much more lively, but it was still a fun place. My beef brisket and cornbread were delicious! I liked that they had different sauces and rubs available for purchase (albeit for carryout orders only).

Bbq chicken was over cooked and dried out so burnt and dry. Brisket was over cooked( guessing kept warm in foil in a steamer) so it was mushy without much flavor. French fries over cooked, dried out ,oily and some burnt. Drinks were self serve had all the regulars plus coffee and tea. Green side salad was fresh cold and crispy ; dressing was good too.Dinner Roll was warm ,dried out and tasteless. Their signature sauce is a mix of red Carolina bbq sauce and mustard bbq. since the pandemic the atmosphere has changed significantly. salatable is gone, no waiter service, more like a fast food environment. order them from a menu behind the counter, give them a vibrating notification device when it is ready, then pick them up at another counter to take their table. the food is served in plastic bowls fed with paper. I've been here for almost 10 years, but not since juni 2020. I don't think I can accept the environmental change, because you've been used to the previous service for a long time, so only 4 out of 5 stars. eating hasn't changed a bit as usual. this was always by far our favourite place to eat. we drive an hour to eat there very willingly and get the meal with every fundraiser. we were there yesterday and were very disappointed. no server, brot, salatbar or wait. Normally, no would wait a plus, but I really think it is because the quality of eating and the experience has gone downhill hills. it was still a decent meal, but not the kind of meal they do not wait in the sense of 45 minutes, just to get a seat like before. I still don't know what to say about this place. I grew up, brooks bbq for fundraiser to eat and thought the nostalgic memories would make this trip worth the ride, but I think I have never been so disappointed. brooks is a glorified almost food restaurant that is 8 decades ago and has not changed anything. we were very confused, to go in and not to welcome. Finally, we realized that we had to approach a fund that we learned that we order, pick up, put us, then eat our foods. eating that came very fast, perhaps faster than any almost food restaurant. We came to the area to visit friends the weekend of April 9/10/22. We tried Andres first because the old reviews showed higher ratings. After finding Andres BBQ closed we opted for Brooks. We try barbecues in all states and areas around the country. I have to say that Brooks is the worst barbecue anywhere, that we have dined at to date. The Pork and Brisket platter was awful compared to all other establishments. The brisket was equal to a fair cut of standard roast beef like you would get on an open face hot beef sandwich.
