"The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the food is mostly enjoyable, though not everything met my expectations. The salmon was tasty but came in a rather small portion considering the high price. The pasta was outstanding, and the burger was quite good as well. However, I found the pretzel and rhubarb tart to be disappointing in flavor. It was rather strange that they have a play area for children but no kid-friendly menu options, apart from the less-than-appetizing pretzel. This is something they definitely need to improve. Overall, I would rate the food a solid 4 out of 5."

"We chose Johnny Pamcakes as we were on our way to the airport and needed to have a meal before we arrived at the airport. I googled restaurants near the airport and this lovely place popped up with excellent reviews. We decided to take a chance. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by very friendly wait-staff. The restaurant is very bright, airy and spacious. We arrived around 4pm so it wasn't very crowded. There were couples and families of all ages dining. Kayla our server greeting us warmly. We decided to have wraps. Hubs chose the taco wrap and I chose the chicken Caesar wrap. The wrap was possibly a spinach wrap?? Not certain, but the wrap itself had a very delicious flavor. It does come with a side, but hubs opted out of the sides and I had the potato salad which was very good. Both wraps were very tasty and fresh! Prices were reasonable! What I observed as we were waiting for our meal was that the servers were all very happy people! They were all willing to please and appeared to truly like their jobs! We were really impressed with the happy, friendly environment in which they work. We won't be coming back to the area, but we considered it a great way to end our trip up north. Kudos to the owners for having such a lovely restaurant. We highly recommend it!"

"My mother in law loves this place and her and my husband have gone here for years prior to me joining the family! It’s a quaint little gem in Rockford, at the corner of a little strip mall. It has certainly grown on me. The food is affordable and the service is great! My reasoning for the four stars two things. First, the food is subpar. It’s not that it’s not good, it’s just not impressive. Two, is that they need to have a better system for random ppl coming in that aren’t supposed to be there because the last time I went, there was a gentleman that started yelling and it scared everyone. It looked like he was reaching for something while he was walking out and my mind went everywhere. So yes, security or some system needs to be put in place as this was the second time something like this happens. Other than that, the food is decent esp for the price!"

"I have been ordering from John's for the past year and I always get the beef tortellini once a week! It is incredibly delicious, and their pizza is also fantastic!
