"Hands down the BEST RESTAURANT that I have visited so far here in ROANOKE! OMG 1). WALKING IN We were greeted by the most beautiful soul! The owners have been married for 30 years and told my husband and I the most beautiful testimony of their love, sacrifice, and business journey! They made us feel AT HOME here... 2) THE FOOD HOLY MOLY! It was soooooo good! Ummmmm... They can TAKE my money ANYDAY! I ordered the chicken and shrimp plantains, beans and rice and let me tell you... I am from the islands and haven't had shrimp cooked soooooooo perfectly since! If you know seafood the way I do, you know that this dry and unmarinated shrimp they serve everywhere else is annoying! This place does it perfectly!!! Everything tastes like someone's ABUELA is in the back just sprinkling LOVE into every bite! 3) The Atmosphere Sit where ever you want. The place is IMMACULATELY CLEAN! With REAL ivy plants on the walls, it was like I was sitting at someone's house on a Sunday after church. I mean, even the CUSTOMERS were just SO happy to be there! It was like everyone there KNEW what was about to come out that kitchen was going to be amazing... It's crazy how good food and good atmosphere turns complete strangers into friends... We chatted it up with at least three other customers who were all positively RAVING about the place. 4) Price If I can be honest, we ordered two plates and two sweet teas and a cake and it came out to about $40 and I would GLADLY PAY it again!!! I left the place feeling like I just took a double shot of HAPPY and chased it with a big glass of JOY... If you're looking for a place to visit, you can order ANYTHING here and you won't be disappointed... Come as you are and leave on cloud NINE! Food was amazing!! The plantains were cooked perfectly. The pork was seasoned well and had a lot of flavor. The rice and beans were also really good.

Love the ropa vieja and vaca frita and the beans. (Potaje)My only complaint is that the new owner is too loud. It's hard to keep a conversation when he is practically screaming.

Great customer service and the food was really good. I dont eat meat so I just went with rice and beans and plantains. I also ordered a mango juice. Everything was delicious. The place was very clean. Music was great to listen to while I ate. Can’t wait to go back.

The owners are very friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices and portion sizes are excellent. Definitely check it out! I liked that the menu was straightforward yet offered a variety of great choices. Everything tasted amazing, especially the plantains, which were a standout!

This is a wonderful stop off I-81 on our way to Richmond. We arrived just before closing and were warmly welcomed with smiles and menus. The food here is always fantastic. Lots to choose from and the home made salsa can kick up the level if you want. The deserts here are really good as well. Usually have to get them to go as the portions are large and the cakes too good to pass up. The service is as good as the food! One of my favorite all the restaurants.
