"We each started with a slice, which arrived quickly and hot—just how it should be. After our first bites, we exchanged approving nods. Unlike many other pizza places in Philadelphia and its suburbs that tend to overdo the cheese, leading to it sliding off with a single bite, that isn’t the case at Bruno's! Another highlight is the pizza sauce—it’s robust, sweet, and hints at herbs and spices, just as good pizza sauce should be. Overall, the pizza strikes the perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and a crust that’s both crispy and chewy—truly pizza perfection. Next, we tried their cheesesteak with American cheese and onions. They use fresh rolls that are soft yet remarkably hold all the meat and cheese together, making for a fantastic cheesesteak. What sets Bruno's cheesesteak apart is that they season their meat, offering a flavor profile that’s much richer than the typical, dry meat and cheese you find at many other places. The combination of the seasoned meat, onions, and cheese in that soft roll makes this one of the best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had in Philadelphia. I’ve been to all the popular spots: Steve's Prince of Steaks, Geno's, Pat's, Jim's on South St., and Dalessandro's Steaks, and I can confidently say you need to try a cheesesteak from Bruno's to understand what I mean. To finish our meal, we ordered chicken wings. They are breaded and fried in the style that many of us Philadelphians grew up enjoying from local seafood places and pizzerias. The wings were cooked perfectly, and that first bite into the crispy breading had me hooked. I read some reviews claiming the chicken was undercooked, but I would have to disagree. It’s possible for properly cooked chicken to look red or even bleed at the thigh bone due to pigments from the bone marrow seeping through the thin bones of these young birds, causing a slight tint. I recommend enjoying a slice while waiting for your pizza to be ready. If you’re in the area, this is the place to visit! Pro tip: reheat your pizza on the stove to regain that fresh-from-the-oven taste and texture. Avoid microwaving your leftovers—don’t be an amateur!"

"J'ai mangé ici plusieurs fois. J'ai été surpris de constater qu'avec une réservation, nous étions toujours assis à un stand qui donnait sur la cuisine. Nous aurions pu demander à être déplacés mais avons choisi de ne pas l'être. Le serveur était très enthousiaste, mais a négligé de remplir les verres à eau sans qu'on le lui demande. La lasagne de mon mari était une énorme brique au milieu d'une assiette sans fioritures. Une petite salade ou quelque chose de vert et croquant aurait été bien. Pas un fan de la carte, surtout au prix de l'entrée seule. La chambre était très sombre et un peu bruyante. Je demanderais de ne pas être assis dans ce domaine une autre fois."

"Manger à Elia samedi soir était horrible. Nous sommes arrivés à P.M. Notre réservation était pour Nous avions des billets pour le théâtre Keswick pour le spectacle. Nous pensions que nous avions beaucoup de temps. Malheureusement, il nous a fallu près d'une heure et quarante minutes pour obtenir notre nourriture. Nous avons dû avaler la nourriture pour simplement faire le spectacle. La serveuse a également dit qu'elle pensait qu'elle nous avait servis et que c'était leur excuse. En outre, le propriétaire a dit que si nous commençons à manger la nourriture, nous devrons payer la facture entière. L'expérience a été terrible. Ma femme n'a pas pu manger la nourriture et l'a renvoyée. Heureusement, ils ne l'ont pas accusée. Nous étions ici quand c'était Athéna et nous n'avons eu aucun problème. Cet endroit ne sera pas beaucoup plus longtemps si le service et la nourriture restent horribles"

"J'avais été rebuté par quelques personnes parce que j'ADORE la côte de bœuf. Je venais d'entendre de grandes choses sur le restaurant. Malheureusement, toute l'expérience a été décevante pour nous. Nous avions réservé à la table ouverte et demandé un stand. Quand nous sommes arrivés, l'hôtesse n'a pas confirmé notre réservation lorsque nous lui avons dit que nous l'avions réservée en ligne et nous avons quand même amenés à une table. Elle était notre serveuse et était plutôt bonne. Les boissons étaient bien faites mais petites pour le prix. Nous avons commandé la côte de bœuf. J'ai fait couper les filles et mon mari a obtenu les rois, ce qui représente une différence de prix d'environ 20 $. Quand ils sont sortis, c'était exactement la plus petite portion que j'avais commandée en longueur et en épaisseur. Nous avons commandé une rareté moyenne (ce qui lui ressemblait), mais elle n'avait aucune saveur et était extrêmement résistante. S'il y a une chose que j'aime presque autant que la côte de bœuf, c'est la vinaigrette ranch. C'était copieux et avait un goût terrible. (et non, ce n'était pas du fromage bleu) Pour obtenir notre facture de 100 USD à la fin de notre repas, nous avons tous les deux été complètement déçus par l'ensemble du repas. La qualité ne reflétait pas le coût."

"So the first time I came here, we waited about an hour for the sushi and I was on the verge of walking out. However, I could plainly see that they had a large table who had arrived before us and at least the appetizers came rapidly when ordered so I wasn't completely starving. I would DEFINITELY recommend making a reservation if you plan on going in for dinner on a Friday night. They are BUSY and close around 10. At 7, there's definitely a dinner crowd and only 2 waitresses and 2 chefs. 1 chef does sushi rolls and 1 does the sashimi. The sashimi is EXCELLENT and comes faster than the rolls which definitely fill you up...so my suggested strategy for getting your money's worth (around $22 a head) is to come with an empty stomach, go ham with appetizers, submit that order first, order some rolls as you desire and then go ham with the sashimi. My friends and I did that the 2nd time around and had a splendid experience. The waitresses are very nice, but you can tell they feel the stress from understaffing...I would recommend the shrimp tempura, green tea and red bean ice cream and salmon for sashimi. Spicy raw tuna rolls are also very good."
