"Today was my first visit to Chinatown after living in LA for a couple of years. While wandering down the main street, I stumbled upon Kim Chuy. The reviews looked promising, and since it was a busy Sunday with tempting dishes displayed in the window, I decided to give it a try. I took a moment to choose a soup and settled on the variety soup, which offered a nice selection. I also liked that I could pick the type of noodles, which felt like a nice touch. There was a small hiccup with the service—I was initially moved to a different table and my order got lost. As a solo diner, I understood the space issue and wasn’t too bothered by the seating change, though it was a bit annoying. Waiting hungry for about 5 or 6 minutes for my soup wasn’t ideal, but eventually, it arrived right where I was seated. Overall, I was really pleased with my meal. The flavor, portion size, and variety were excellent, and the price—just $8—felt like a steal in LA. Next time I’m in Chinatown, I might try a different restaurant, not because Kim Chuy wasn’t good, but because I’m curious to explore what else is out there."

Love this place. Mostly noodle style dishes. Chinese Cambodian style.

Most of the food can be ordered for takeout, and there are limited outdoor seating options. The dishes are tasty and full of flavor.

I've come to this restaurant for over 20 years now and there food is delicious. We do prefer a certain waiter cause he knows what we get and treats us so well but all in all it's a great place to eat. Voir le carte

I took seven kids to Kim Chuy, and they all really enjoyed the bahmi sandwiches, egg rolls, and boba drinks. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was plenty of seating inside, plus covered seating available outside in the front.

Update: They’ve added boba drinks with charming Hello Kitty lids! It was already great, and now it’s adorable too. Another update: I don’t get the long lines for those overrated spicy fried chicken sandwiches elsewhere. Kim Chuy is fantastic, everyone. It’s been amazing all these years!

This is a fantastic restaurant with incredibly delicious food. It's a pleasure to enjoy some authentic Chinese cuisine here. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop. The prices are reasonable, and the taste is outstanding. The staff could improve their hospitality, but overall, it’s a great place. Voir le carte

I ordered a noodle soup with duck and was asked if I wanted to eat here or take it to go. I clearly stated that I wanted to dine in, but I ended up getting it as takeout, complete with a lot of plastic containers. The noodles were rather bland, and the duck had large pieces with broken bones. Overall, I found my experience disappointing.

In short, go to Qin West Noodle a few restaurants next door.Although this seems to be somewhat of a cheap eats place and is popular with locals, the food is just ok. We only ordered the #4 noodle soup which came with assorted meats: meatballs, braised duck leg, fish cake, squid, shrimp, and a slice of kidney. The taste felt much like a carry out location.Service is fast and kind. The atmosphere is a little dingy.
