"We decided to try out the restaurant because my mother is a McGettigan and wanted to go. We were in the city on 12/23/15 for Elf the Musical and it was walking distance from Penn Station. Both servers that handled our table were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and the portions were big. We also got to enjoy the Happy Hour since we were there at 4pm. Prices were not bad, especially for NYC. The Express Lunch special seemed like a good deal, but we decided on other options from the menu. I highly recommend this place. Infact, we are trying to put together a small gathering of my family on the McGettigan side sometime in the next few months."

Expecting a typical Irish bar atmosphere, we were pleasantly surprised by the funky/glam flair in the décor. LED lights changed colors and lit up the many reflective surfaces. Food was solid. Service was excellent.

The layout allowed for private group spots as well as being part of the action. Service was great. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent. Our group of four had a great time. Will recommend to friends.

The staff were friendly but lacked professionalism. For a sports bar, that's not acceptable. The TVs are positioned too high, and the layout makes it difficult to watch multiple games at once. Additionally, the chicken wings are surprisingly small.

great place to meet friends for a sporting event. service was very good and the prices were fair for Mid-Manhattan. would return to this pub. in the land of many irish pubs that was a good sound. before they were there and will be next trip back to nyc. Voir le carte

While the color changing lights worked for the bar, they were totally out of place in the library dining area. Extensive bar but no signature cocktails. The server, Mitch, was friendly but often missing. The chicken schnitzel was good but could have been spiced more. The burgers and onion rings were very good.

was immediately switched off by the hostess. we had reserved 2 people. she looked upset and nodded in direction table between 8 women sitting outside and a group of 8 people. never gave us menu, never asked if table ok. I recognize a sportable that took so high noise levels but could not come past the hostess. regular waiting staff was in order.

This restaurant has a lovely exterior that resembles a typical Irish pub, but the interior is quite surprising. The décor is impressive and stylish. I visited on a Wednesday, and it was relatively quiet with a low noise level, which was wonderful since I could actually converse with my colleagues without having to raise my voices – a rarity in Manhattan. The food was enjoyable and the prices were reasonable. The service was friendly, although it was a bit difficult to catch their attention, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Voir le carte

McGettigan's has a nice atmosphere with plenty of HD tv's all around. The Manager/Owner was very nice with changing the channel to my liking as I came to watch the Rangers game. Drinks were good and cheap during happy hour. Only thing I didn't like was the sliders that I ordered. They were very plain and too dry for my liking. I think $14 for 3 sliders is a bit steep as well. I pay $2.50 per slider which is substantially better tasting in other places. Overall, the place is great and I will definitely be back for another game. Rangers Won!!

I stopped in for a late lunch at 2:00 PM with a group of five. My first impression was that I really loved the ambience of this bar! The place was nearly empty, and we had our pick of tables. The waitress was incredibly friendly. We ordered drinks and appetizers, but unfortunately, it took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive and another 15 for the appetizers. I'm not sure why it took so long, especially since we were the only customers ordering at that time. The food was exceptional; we all raved about the calamari and bruschetta—absolutely delicious! However, the lengthy wait time makes me hesitant to return in the future.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
