"We decided to try out the restaurant because my mother is a McGettigan and wanted to go. We were in the city on 12/23/15 for Elf the Musical and it was walking distance from Penn Station. Both servers that handled our table were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and the portions were big. We also got to enjoy the Happy Hour since we were there at 4pm. Prices were not bad, especially for NYC. The Express Lunch special seemed like a good deal, but we decided on other options from the menu. I highly recommend this place. Infact, we are trying to put together a small gathering of my family on the McGettigan side sometime in the next few months."

Great connection to lunch. The food is delicious and the beer is cold! This place is very clean.

Expecting a typical Irish bar atmosphere, we were pleasantly surprised by the funky/glam flair in the décor. LED lights changed colors and lit up the many reflective surfaces. Food was solid. Service was excellent.

The layout allowed for private group spots as well as being part of the action. Service was great. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent. Our group of four had a great time. Will recommend to friends.

great place to meet friends for a sporting event. service was very good and the prices were fair for Mid-Manhattan. would return to this pub. in the land of many irish pubs that was a good sound. before they were there and will be next trip back to nyc. View menu

It was super quite on a Sunday when we came to watch the games. They do have NFL Sunday ticket, but it was empty. Great space, upscale decor with o downscale vibe. Lots of taps, but beer was $8, so not budget. Menu was alright, but the online menus prices are off. Humus was $13, not the $10 It is listed at.

was immediately switched off by the hostess. we had reserved 2 people. she looked upset and nodded in direction table between 8 women sitting outside and a group of 8 people. never gave us menu, never asked if table ok. I recognize a sportable that took so high noise levels but could not come past the hostess. regular waiting staff was in order.

McGettigans is amazing! We called half an hour ago and could get a stand to see an ND game. The service was excellent throughout the game and I thought the dishes and drinks were cheap for NYC! The playlist was brilliant – mostly thrown back songs – and not too loud, so we could focus on the game. It was also not too crowded, which was a nice step from the rest of the city. I'd come back! This is a total bar threshold. Outside and the name looks quite normal, but you go in and it's almost like a club. Sports on TV, but not loud or obnoxious. Very recommended. The staff knows his things and it's a nice place to relax. Comfortable bar chairs. Extensive spirits available, although no menu in itself. If I'd recommend you're in the area, I like this place very much. Wheelchair accessible entrance.

Our server, Octavian, was amazing—he provided excellent service throughout our visit. The food matched the quality of our overall experience. The special of the day was mushroom and shrimp risotto, which was just as delicious as I had hoped. My wife ordered the drunken chicken, and we both loved it. To top off our night, we indulged in the dessert special, tiramisu, which was so good that we ended up ordering two more!

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
