The atmosphere was very nice, Imagine eating a great meal in peace with no bar noise all around you you could actually hold a conversation if you were in a group). The food was excellent and more than I should have eaten. The service was great it was good to see a family working together to run a successful business). After driving all day on our way to Alabama to visit family, a quick stop for Take Out from this gem was just perfect. Staff were so nice just luv that southern hospitality.

The biscuits alone make this place worth coming to. They're the reason I gave the food a 5. I had a western omelet, which was good. My only criticisms, which are minor, are the sweet tea could've used more sugar, and the grits were kind of runny. Oh, if you're using Google maps to find it, keep a sharp eye. It kind of sneaks up on you amongst the midst of the chain restaurants.

From the sweet young man who showed us to our table, to the very pleasant and competent waitress, to the cashier (I think he may have been the owner. , our meal at Old Fort was very enjoyable. My husband and I both ordered hamburger steak. It was very tasty and covered with grilled onions. He really enjoyed his salad and baked potatoes and my mashed potatoes, turnip greens and fried okra were delicious. We were spending the night in Cleveland and Old Fort Restaurant was less than a mile rom our hotel. We chose it for its convenience but we would stop again for all those previously mentioned reasons.
