"We placed our order online on their website. After waiting over an hour and calling them numerous times (they never answered their phone) we drove to the restaurant only to find they never inputted the order. They quickly entered it but ignored the allergy info listed on the order! After an hour and a half we finally received the food only to find that I could not eat my dinner. No compensation for the total failure on their part either! Don’t order online!!"

The quality has greatly deteriorated since they were acquired by a restaurant group. The steak is bland, the seafood is mediocre, and the hush puppies, which used to be complimentary, now cost $5 per basket. There are better upscale dining options in the area.

The oysters and hushpuppies were absolutely delicious. Our waiter James was outstanding! We were really happy to discover the restaurant was open, especially since most places in Hilton Head closed down due to Storm Ian, which was not the hurricane that was originally forecasted for this area.

The Old Oyster Factory looks good from the outside but the views of the marsh in the inside are a must see! There’s plenty of seating and a cool architectural vibe. I am not a huge seafood fan, but those I was with said the oysters, shrimp and grouper bites were great. The hush puppies were delicious. Voir le carte

The cooked oysters were enjoyable. However, the clams and mussels appetizer was disappointing; the clams were shriveled and cold, and the mussels were tiny, about the size of my pinky fingernail. Overall, it was quite miserable. The scallops were also underwhelming—five of them the size of a quarter for $38.

I went with a group of 10 ladies. It seemed like they wanted to serve all of us at once so some meals were hot and some had cooled by the time they served us I had a burger, asked for medium well and it was pretty rare. Everyone who had seafood seemed to enjoy it. Great view and good atmosphere but as a non-seafood eater I don't think I would recommend to meat-eaters for lunch.
