My son and I visited Smith's Hotel today, February 17, 2016, and we both ordered the chop steak sub, which was absolutely fantastic. I also brought home a foot-long ham sub for later!

"The staff up front was very friendly and efficient. The server seemed like she did not want to be there. She took care of us ok but was not friendly and never smiled once. It seemed like she was going through the motions and did not want to be there. The appetizer we got was good and had great flavor. The French toast, eggs, and bacon were good. The honey chicken thighs were very dry and not much flavor. The Brussell sprouts had no flavor at all and were barely cooked. My daugheter lives in Columbia and we were looking forward to eating here, but it was not up to par with what we were expecting unfortunately."

"A pleasant surprise! I never really thought of Columbia as a dining destination. Having lived there for years, I found the cuisine to be quite limited and lacking in creativity. However, Colas was a delightful discovery. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We started with a fried okra and goat cheese appetizer that was absolutely delicious. We also sampled the coconut shrimp and pimento cheese appetizers. While they weren't groundbreaking in originality, they were well-executed and beautifully presented. The salmon was cooked to perfection and served over the creamiest grits I've ever tasted. The trout was also a hit. We had no room for dessert, which is always a good sign! This restaurant prioritizes service and quality, and they are doing everything right. I look forward to my next visit!"

"I was in Columbia yesterday for business and decided to pick up wings for the drive back home. I read online that D’S Wings on Meeting Street was rated as Best wings in the State namely the Citrus Kick Wings.. Uh that’s a big fat no they are not. Wings were plain with not a sprinkle of salt or any other seasoning. They seemed to be either pre boiled and then flash fried or they were poor quality. The skin was still wet on many of them and only a smidgette of sauce was on the bottom of the carry out box but none on the wings. My order of 9 and fries were $16"
