"Although I was recently here, I had to drag my hubby out here again to try their amazing Katsu. Since I knew they were short on good seatings, I had to literally drag him out of our house super-early (4:45 pm? for the long 40-minute drive to Matthews! Based on my first experience for lunch, I thought that there might be a waiting list by 5:30 pm, so we arrived early at 5:15 pm. As it goes, we had no problem getting a good seat. It seemed they were more popular for lunch...which made sense, given their amazing lunch specials!My husband ordered the Bento with Chicken Katsu and the side of Sushi Rolls, and I ordered their Katsucurry with Tori Karaage. We also added Popcorn Shrimp as appetizer.Again, their Bento is not typical by any means...as the foods are set in a tray format, and the portions seemed much bigger. The Bento that my husband ordered was basically the same as the one I had for lunch, though he chose the Sushi Rolls over the Popcorn Shrimp. However dinner pricing was obviously higher...but their Bento was a steal...even for 25 bucks. As expected, he loved the Katsu, the Tempura, the whole works. He agreed that it's possibly the best in town...on par with Musashi's. Though highly anticipated, I didn't quite love the Katsucurry with Tori Karaage (AKA crispy chicken pieces . Think I prefer the traditional Chicken Katsu slices over these pieces. Plus, both the Chicken and the Curry tasted a bit bland. Still, I'm glad I tried it...as I was so curious about the Katsucurry with Tori Karaage (my first . Just like before, I LOVED the Popcorn Shrimp appetizer...possibly THE best version of Pocorn Shrimp I've ever had?? I'm definitely going back to the regular Katsu...not the curry version next time.Just as before, the service was really good...Fast, friendly and attentive. I could be wrong, but it seemed their decor changed a bit. New wall art? Though super-casual, the place provides a warm, cozy vibe...and surprisingly for such a casual place, they even had overhead music! Despite my disappointment with their Katsucurry, I still stand by my initial notions that I think they have the best Katsu in Charlotte...and possibly the best, most generous Bento Boxes. We'll definitely be back for more!"

"Run don't walk to this place. I heard it was good, but how good could it be? Whatever you are thinking it is even better than that. I would gladly drive from University all the way down to South Charlotte just to get some more of this. The flavors are creative and not just for show. These creative flavors work extremely well. I can't even dream big enough to keep up. Come here and get two scoops maybe even three. You can try lots of flavors. The waffle is crisp and delicious, nothing here is second best."

"Eating their stuffed grape leaves tasted homemade they were both nostalgic and delicious! Their hummus and tabbouleh were also very good. It looked like their kibbeh was double fried, extremely delicious with their hummus, garlic sauce (like a garlic greek yogurt), and their tahini sauce. We even served warmed pita bread, the big pockets!! Not the small ones you see in the grocery stores. Absolutely delightful servers and owner. They were kind and thoughtful, keeping up with how we liked the food High key recommend this place Will definitely keep coming back here!"

"This is one of our go-to restaurants, and my husband and I come here several times a month. The quality of the the food has undeniably slipped over the past few months, and they never seem to have enough servers working. Nonetheless, it's our local spot and we really enjoy the vegetarian dishes, ACP varieties, and diablo shrimp. So we were so disappointed to discover yesterday that a new menu has been implemented with higher prices and our favorites are no longer available. Having to now pay $1.95 per basket of chips and salsa ultimately had us walking out the door and up the road to a different Mexican restaurant.I understand that some people may take advantage of free chips salsa, and $1.95 isn't a lot, but it's widely expected to receive them. They may also help promote further drink orders from non-dining patrons. Perhaps just require a minimum order amount, say $15, and they are complimentary. Order below that and you have to pay. At any rate, I'm not sure that we will be returning."

"First time here, great experience! Ordered through website which was easy and straightforward. Lady at pickup window was so nice and welcoming. Made sure I had everything I ordered. Prices were wonderful and quantity was huge. I got a bigger sandwich here than I do at most places for less way money...and that was including an upcharge for additional meat. (Still less The sandwich was great,. Kids combo was also inexpensive, large for a child and yummy. All in all great customer service and get prices. Will be back...probably today or tomorrow to try more of the menu!"
