"I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but while the food was amazing the service was meh. The place wasn’t even full, and they took forever to bring our drinks and food. We had to call the waitress several times. Also they didn’t ask about any allergies or aversions, and I had a terrrible experience. Not their fault though, but they did nothing about it. Come here for the food, but don’t expect to get the best service, and be prepared for a generous check"

Lovely interior with amazing drinks and great food! The garlic potato chips and Bibb salad are a must. Can?t go wrong with any pasta on the menu.

Understated restaurant with classic food done well loved the trout main and the broccoli appetiser, and the drink offerings are quite impressive. Service was helpful and friendly!

How can I give 6 stars? A fantastic experience. The place is elegant but also fresh. Excellence food. Perfect service that will provide you nice suggestions. One of my favourite in Manhattan!

Decided to try after reading Danny Meyer’s book, and did not fail to impress. Great hospitality from the staff and the duck ragu pasta and the porterhouse steak were one of the best i’ve had. Would highly recommend as this restaurant definitely has that extra edge that makes it special and elegant, yet casual at the same time. Voir le carte

A single visit is all that's needed to understand why Union Square Cafe is so adored by many in the city. Simply put, everything in the restaurant is great. Host and servers are warm and friendly, the food is fresh and delicious (especially the panzanella), and the decor is visually pleasing. Eagerly looking forward to my next meal here.

A classy restaurant with a rich history, it was the perfect place for an office birthday. My colleague and I were spoiled with lunch in the City...a gourmet black angus beef burger grilled to medium-well perfection washed down with a fresh cucumber, jalapeño, cilantro cocktail was just to my taste. I tasted the gazpacho as well, delicious.

Attended a large 50th birthday party (32 people). The servers were the utmost professionals and very efficient. My server went out of her way to make sure they gave me a vegan dish for each of four courses. So gracious and accommodating! And the food was delicious! Loved the artwork!Dietary restrictions: The chef provided me with vegan options not on the menu, which I truly appreciate! Voir le carte

Union Square Cafe is an iconic restaurant in NYC. Three of us had dinner last evening and the Cafe continues too give patrons a 5-star experience. A warm greeting, as well as a most professional and helpful service became backdrops for some wonderful dishes. Green gazpacho, Steelhead Trout, and Branzino we’re all attractively presented and tasted delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience.

Great ambiance, great service. I have to ding stars because the food is generally too salty. The olives and salted butter weren?t a great combo for the bread. The pasta was amazing, perfectly al dente with a rich, varied flavor. The olive oil poached cod was uniquely soft with a great tomato and bean base to complement. I want to revisit to try other dishes, but not sure when I would do it. I think there are other places in NYC I could try first.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
