"The food was disgusting, we returned 6 out of 7 appetizers that were served to us. The poor quality meat is poorly cooked and has a bad taste. They calculated every last cent of the bill. Shame should give them the lousy customer service and the lousy quality of the food with the years they have on the market !!!!! I will never return and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. While the actual building is located in the interior on a very steep hill, the outer area is actually secured on the lower, flat part up to the road. Parking is tricky, tight, so ready to circle the block. The street parking lot is also metered. Well personalized and competent table service. Pleasant breakfast and lunch menus that breathe fresh life into classic dishes without being too artistic or eclectic. Not many seats in this popular sit-down restaurant. So waiting times seem to be frequent...which means that a negative for snowy children or mobility is repaired especially in view of the steep slope AND steps for indoor eating. Many robust wooden high chairs. One, single user, uni sex bedroom. However, it is located in the upper, inner-dining building, so be ready for lean foot / stairs to get it, depending on where you found parking. "The food and service for our latest dining experience here was excellent. Mama Carmela's meatballs, eggplant parmesan, fettucine with dungeness crab were all wonderful. The owner and servers are always friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, we had a large party nearby which took away from the ambience of the evening. Nothing could be done about the noise level but it did take away from our enjoyment of the evening"

"Our family enjoyed the outdoor seating and the waiters did a great job of quickly pushing other tables in when it was raining out of the blue. We were under an umbrella and a big tree and didn't have to move and the rain stopped quickly. Our teenage kids weren't in many nice restaurants and they loved the creative starters, especially the homemade croutons on the Caesar salad, delicious! We all had very good meals and were too full for dessert, which is unfortunate because I have eaten the chocolate bread pudding with Baileys before and it is divine! There are so many tasty options and we enjoyed the scallops as well as the duck, key lime chicken and the flank. You can't go wrong!"

"Beautiful evening to dine outside. Caesar salad preference is torn or chopped leaves; don’t like long leaves to cut up. The main course was very good, the dessert disappointing to say the least. They mentioned that the little donuts were on the menu with chocolate caramel dipping sauce. The donuts were hollow shaped, hard nothings. Not like the donuts I know. I recommend passing on that dessert."

"Had lunch here and things were semi-crowded (restaurant was about 60% full). Tables were clean and the ambiance was calm/quiet. Would be a great place for a casual sushi date. Service was excellent and attentive. My waitress was the only server working there, and she did a great job keeping my water glass full and making sure I was satisfied with my meal. The food was alright for the price. I ordered the Philly and Lafayette rolls. They came out promptly and as described in the menu. Even though each roll only came with 6 pieces, they were very thick (about 2x as thick as the ones you see in grocery stores). The bites are well-proportioned and tasty. I did spontaneously order some inari (not pictured unfortunately), and it was just okay. $5 for two pieces felt kind of like highway robbery, but for a place that has to pay Lafayette rent, I'm not going to condemn them for it."

"We have reserved an anniversary dinner. Ruth's Chris doesn't disappoint. The food was great, the service was great and the ambience was nice. This was a first visit to this location on LaCantera Parkway. The downside was that my vehicle was broken into and the rest of our evening plans were ruined. Signs said measured with the camera - not necessarily true. The buildings are measured. Of course, Ruth's Chris wasn't really to blame, but waiting an hour to report it as we live a bit outside of SA was definitely a downer. Next time - UBER for sure."

"This was our most disappointing meal in Lafayette in decades. We paid over $100 for our food. We had a hair in one dish and we ordered the garlic prawns. There were five small shrimp in a pile of vegetables. The restaurant was empty. A two year old cute little girl was walking around behind the counter eating food in her hand. I didn't have a problem, I loved her and talked to her. But it just reflected how badly run the place is. The chef knew we had takeout and realized we wouldn't take the time to call or go back. I have never called a restaurant for takeout issues in my life. I called and gave her feedback. With all the options in Lafayette, we will never order from here again."

"We sat outside. It was a beautiful evening. Weather was perfect for eating outdoors. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly. It took us a while to decide what we wanted and he was kind and patient with us. The menu gives many choices and there were also specials. Two of us didn’t want much salt in our dish and he made sure we had exactly as we wished. Our husband ms split a Caesar salad. We all had pasta dishes and they were delicious. We’ll return soon."

"Atmosphere is good with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is quick and good. Food is not that great as you may expect because of the vibe, setting and prices. Cesar salad was literally two pieces of lettuce with dressing; pizza was saggy and very thin. And for all, expect a mandatory included 20% service charge to your bill. As a pizza place, it's overrated and pricy. For sure you can have much better pizza somewhere else."

"We accidentally ended up at El Charro last Saturday night. My wife picked the restaurant and I thought she said El Charro, when she actually said El Jarro. Who knew there were two Mexican restaurants on the same street in the same neighborhood with such similar names? (Clearly, not me But the place was hopping and there was a line to get seated, so we figured we might have just stumbled upon a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the surprise was on us Both the dining room and kitchen were severely understaffed. Once our orders were finally taken, it took minutes for our two entrees to arrive. For a family style Mexican restaurant, that's just not OK. The waiters were pleasant enough, but once the food was served, we didn't see them again, either to ask how things were or to refill our water (or ask if we wanted another drink). The food was mediocre at best. The super burrito had some sort of sweet filling/sauce and both the refried beans and the guacamole were completely bland and I'm not particularly a fan of spice. The bean burrito with black beans was equally bland and the enchilada was more sauce than anything else. We were seriously disappointed with the entire experience Next time I will double check the name before setting my GPS to a restaurant!"

"Chow in Lafayette is the suburb cousin of Park Chow in the city. The food is definitely a cut above the standard ’burbs fare, but is step under great food. The menu is diverse – regardless of your mood and/or Finicky-ness – you will find something in the menu to interest you. A nice positive is that many of the dishes in different portion sizes (indicated by 2 or 3 different prices beside selected dishes), so you can order the right amount of food. The spaghetti and meatballs is a good portion, has rich sauce and juicy meatballs. The Thai-style noodles are spicy and a great dish when you have to warm up. I would rate the food 4 stars. What takes it down a star are 3 things: 1. Waiting can be laboriously long for comfort food. Do you really want to wait an hour to have these spaghetti and meatballs or a pepper soup? 2. For Asian dishes and meat dishes are the portions on the small side. You really notice the small size when you get out and you're spending a gut on your normal plates at home. 3. The place is invalid. Yeah, you have to call to have a conversation with the person sitting next to you. With the noise it is a perfect place for dinner with small children. In most places, you'd be worried about them making too much noise. Not with Chow. Lots of parking in front of the restaurant. Turned off at the back of a shopping center on the main street in Lafayette. Look after the Starbucks/A.G. Ferrari."

"I went to this restaurant for dinner, which was enjoyable. However, I believe they should not offer reservations if they are unable to manage them properly. We had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Additionally, other diners who arrived after us were seated before us, which caused a delay in our group being able to sit together. Despite this, the food and service were good."

"The restaurant is very expensive, and they had a young employee making sandwiches who seemed inexperienced. I haven't been to a Subway in years, and this experience is a reminder of why I won't be going back. I would prefer to eat at 7-11, which is conveniently located nearby. It seemed like the owner was watching over the young employee and training him while we were trying to place our order, which was not the appropriate time for training."

"I should have taken a photo, but I devoured the burrito so quickly! I just want to rave about this place and their amazing customer service. I asked for a simple bean and cheese burrito and paid for it. Afterward, I inquired about the type of beans they use (I'm 7.5 months pregnant and only like refried beans for some reason...oh, pregnancy!). The staff informed me they only use whole beans. I tried to see if I could get something else for the same price, which they were very accommodating about, but ultimately decided to stick with my original order. When I returned from the restroom, they surprised me by making the beans refried just for me. It was a lovely gesture and the burrito was delicious. I highly recommend this place!"

"this is one of my favorite places, and I always take my extra-city guests here when they visit. they offer coffee and tee (they have a great tea menu), but they should ask for vegetable milk. they also offer a whole range of beer, wee and cocktails, including a super tasteful **** mary. for eating they have full menus to breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner all day. they also make fresh pastries every day and normally have specials on board vegan options include a delicious plant-based breakfast tostada, crazy good pastel flour (ask for mandelmilch instead of milk on the side), and amazing erdnus butter sandwich cookies. I do not remember if there are eggs in English muffins, but when they come here they ask! They are milk-free (except the butter on the side, but they can do it without) and they are the most delicious English muffins I have ever had."

"My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time and unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food and wine. My wife's filet mignon kebab was overcooked instead of being the medium rare she had requested. However, my lamb shank was delicious and flavorful. The merlot I ordered had sediment at the bottom of the glass, which was quite off-putting."

"Listen. I don’t mean to be a pee or whatever but for those interested in getting coffee this is not the spot. Their espresso is very bad and bitter. The atmosphere is kinda wonky, they’ve got this weird little corner with some high chairs being stored there and a bench, not inviting, or some hard chairs and that’s it. I get the space is small and not much to work with but you could still make a little something something happen with a loveseat or a couch, maybe a coffee table."
