"This was a wonderful surprise and the food was delicious. It's half ice cream shop, and half cafe. They have very generous portions. We shared a meal and had more than enough. We got the loaded chicken sandwich special. This picture is of just half of the sandwich. I also had gotten the potato soup which was equally as nummy. The fresh squeezed lemonade is some of the best I have had. We also got two scoops of ice cream, but truthfully we could have gotten by with one as the portion was so generous also. We will definitely be going back on a regular basis."

"Delightful from A to Z. Very nice and clean Restaurant in the heart of Punta Gorda. A friendly greeting at the entrance sets the tone. Explaining the options between two restaurants, inside or outside seating. Or if just in the mood for a handcrafted cocktail, a long Bar to the right of the entrance seem to be the right place to be. Service is professional and friendly. The choices on the menu balanced between land and sea. We tried 2 appetizers, both the shrimp and calamari were perfectly prepared. The Madagascar Shrimp as main course were the right choice, and not quite as spicy as anticipated. The Butterfish at perfection. Sure a place to recommend"

"PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN. We landed here by accident because we were hungry and planned to stop by another place, but it was closed. When we got to the restaurant, there was no one waiting and only one table occupied. It took our waitress 15minutes to get us seated. She got our order and then took about 35 minutes to bring our food out. My son?s (3 years old) foodwas incomplete and my husband?s was incorrect. We waited over 30 minutes because she told us they were cooking the rest. Wellshe never came back with it or to apologize. We didn?t get refills and of course never got the rest if our order. Now, thewaitress stood behind the register for all this time. We finally walked up to her and asked to pay the bill, we paid but did nottip her. She questioned my husband about the $0 on the tip portion of the receipt and proceeded to thank us for not tipping her.We explained why we didn?t think she deserved a tip and she proceeded to argue. In a side note, the restaurant was empty andall the tables had unfinished plates and dirty cups/utensils/napkins."

"I've also tried the pepper steak, which was great as well, although the pieces of beef were a bit larger than I'd prefer, but I could easily handle that with a steak knife. My only complaint was the ribs; I tried them once and won't again because the meat was dry, tough, and lacked flavor. Overall, I give this place a high rating. If you don't have your own chopsticks, make sure to contact your delivery driver, as they aren't automatically included, but fortune cookies are!"

"Server was friendly and patient while I took my time to make my selection. Prompt with serving my mt Tau dark berry bash. The food was immediately served and hot pierced. She wasn't ready to bring me a spoon. Suggestions that Silverware is close to servers, as they probably cannot have in a a apron because of COVID. Presentation was excellent. The spoiled wort was not overdue. Thank you to the boss! I was a pigeon scars because some people are above the top with the heat. The meal usually comes with tortilla strips. I asked to keep them for me. Bravo! Alicia, you did a great job."

"This is a normal location for me since I'm a CDL driver that has to start on average of 2am. I went to this location on 9-20-22 at 12:45am and the only 2 employees were sitting out side smoking cigarettes and they watched me pull in for the drive thru andI sat there for 10 minutes and they never even got up from their seats then watched me drive away. Thankfully the app letcancel my order and get a refund."

"We ordered a pepperoni stuffed crust pizza for $40, including tip, and added several toppings to make it a Supreme style pizza. After 45 minutes, we received a cheesy Alfredo pizza instead. When we called the restaurant to inform them of the mix-up, they initially assured us they would send the correct pizza along with a free pizza for our next order. However, after waiting another hour without receiving our order, we called back and were told they would not be sending the pizza we paid for, but instead, we would receive a future credit. This was on a Wednesday night, so it wasn't exactly a busy evening. We were very disappointed."

"Wive heard about her network that Penny's was a very good breakfast/lunch restaurant. Like every good man, we have the first chance we could go. As soon as we moved to the place, people waited outside to get in. I really don't wait more than 30 minutes for breakfast, but it's Valentine's Day we did. As for breakfast, it is difficult to get a 5-star rating IMO. Eggs are eggs. Bacon is bacon. Toast is toast. That was Penny's over and beyond. The staff was incredibly busy and still had time to ask us how our day went, smiled and quickly took our order and got it into an undersized kitchen. Our breakfast was perfect! Give this place a try and don't worry about the Beait time."

"Slicing right in at 4.5 This somewhat hole in the wall is a great spot for Greek cravings. Glad to see there's a no-nonsense Greek spot in Punta Gorda. Their menu has great options and prices are very affordable and reasonable. If you're coming to be wowed by decor and fancy seating, go somewhere else. Ok, straight to the point... Gyro was great. Meat had great flavor and the salad was fresh. My small gripe is the Gyro should be either a tad bigger or have alittle more meat. Wife got the falafel platter which was pretty much an open face gyro but it also was flavorful and fresh. The baklava had great taste, just alittle on the too sweet side for my wife, so I finished it ?. As a note, the Baklava is only made with walnuts (no pistachios) so if you're looking for that combination, you're not getting it here. I will say that the service was impeccable. The lady (whom had a heavy accent) was amazing; constantly checking up on us and was very nice. We are coming back as this place has great potential."

"We were driving back home from a short vacation in Port Charlotte and we decided to grab a quick bite. We saw McDonald that we detest and Wendy's, I was saying to my wife, where the heck is Burger king! We turned left to Wendy's and then we noticed Burger king hidden on the opposite side, so I made a turn and went to Burger king. We entered, the place had 7 patrons, floor with physical debris. Stations were fine with enough napkins, straws cups and leads. I wanted to greet the young Male attendant but he didn't have a name tag on, friendly and outgoing. He took my order which was a number 1 with medium fries and drinks. I told him that I wanted it made freshly, he acknowledged it and suggested cheese which I said NO to. My wife said she wanted the same thing but no mayo and Onions Rings instead of Fries. $16.35 . We sat to wait and 4 minutes later, we were called to pick up, my wife went and got the food. The Burger was not just made, the fries were redropped which is a term we use in restaurants when you precook food and having to drop it again in fryer or putting something Cooked on a grill. We ate part of everything and threw away most of the food. I wouldn't recommend this place base on my experience."

"I would like to express my dissatisfaction with my family’s experience at your restaurant on Saturday evening. We had family visiting and made a request for a seating arrangement for around 15 people at 3:30 PM on the deck. Upon our arrival, we quickly realized that sitting in the sun would be uncomfortably hot, so we requested indoor seating. However, we noticed that being seated inside as a single group might not be possible, and we were not offered any alternatives. While waiting, we ordered drinks from the bar, including sodas for the children. The cocktails were served, and since it was close to our seating time, we were told that the sodas would be delivered to our table once we were seated. A few minutes later, we were called and directed to the deck (thank you for seating us close to 3:30). However, as we made our way down the ramp (with two individuals in wheelchairs), I was disappointed to see that the tables on the deck were metal-topped and exposed to direct sunlight, without any umbrellas for shade. The glare from the metal tabletops was blinding for those of us facing the sun. We also had to add an additional table to accommodate our entire party and moved some umbrellas from adjacent unoccupied tables in an effort to provide some shade and comfort for our group. Up to that point, we had not been offered indoor seating, we had added the extra table ourselves, and we had to reorder the sodas from our waiter (who did his best; he was a young man with curly hair). We asked for a manager's assistance to resolve these issues, but no one came to speak with us. The final straw came when we were told we shouldn’t be moving the umbrellas around because one had been blown over by the wind. Again, when we asked for indoor seating, we were informed that it couldn’t be accommodated, and still, no staff member or manager offered any recommendations or solutions. Even the most patient and understanding member of our family, who usually remains calm no matter the circumstances, was unable to accept the level of disregard shown to us. As a result, we decided to leave."

"I just finally went to the Burger Barn for the first time. I've been meaning to do it for a long time. And I'm so glad I did! I always get a turkey burger or veggie burger when I go out and it's always dry and nasty. This is the first time I've ever found one that's actually juicy and yummy!! And it's dog friendly which is a big bonus!! I was so pleased with the food and the service that I grabbed my son and took him the next time I went. Just so tickled I found a new place to go out to lunch with my son and my dog."

"I returned for a fish fry dinner on Friday night for the second week in a row, and this time, there was a new chef. I ordered the blackened catfish, which was fantastic! The zucchini fries were also very delicious. Others in my group tried the batter-dipped cod fries and enjoyed them as well. However, there's a catch—the restaurant is only open to the public for lunch! So, unless you find yourself near Burnt Store Road around noon, you'll need to head about a mile further north of Vincent Road to the Turtle Crossing strip mall on the east side of Burnt Store Road and visit Mainley."

The man (dark hair and beard) was a restaurant employee (went back to work the oven) but it was very evident with his questioning and demeanor, it was but a favorable conversation and the 2 waitresses were upset.Problems within the staff should not be addressed at the front counter. Very uncomfortable to us to witness this as we walked in the door."

"I went in after work, and was told I could sit anywhere (awesome). I was greeted by Mattie. She suggested the Monday burger special, which is exactly what I wanted tonight. "I picked up my daughter from Punta Gorda airport this afternoon. Before she left Nashville, she mentioned she was hungry and wanted pizza. I looked up local pizza places and after reading a few reviews, decided on Brooklyn Joe's, and it was the perfect choice! We got a large pepperoni pizza, which was wonderfully foldable for the drive home. I took some extra napkins because I had read one comment about the pizza being greasy, but that wasn’t the case at all! The only thing that barely leaked onto the napkin was a tiny drop of pepperoni juice. The crust was just right! I'm so glad I stopped by and will definitely return next time I'm in the area. The service was excellent, too!"

"What a delightful surprise! We dined at The Torch for the first time tonight and left feeling like we had discovered a gem! We started with a delicious salad featuring mixed greens, strawberries, and mandarin oranges, all dressed with a unique house dressing. Everything was fresh and crisp. I ordered the prime rib accompanied by Yukon potatoes and a side of sautéed zucchini. The meat was perfectly cooked with a lovely pink center, the zucchini was just right, and the potatoes were prepared well. The presentation was quite impressive. The prices for the entrees were reasonable. The staff was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!"

"If you don't know Punta Gorda, this place can be hard to find because it is located on an itty-bitty side street just a few minutes walk from the courthouse. I had a reub and onion rings. They used the right cut of beef (a must for a good recubation in my opinion), but I think they flushed the sauerkraut in water and neglected to squeeze out the entire liquid from it. This made for a somewhat tasteless soggy sandwich. The onion rings were super delicious, but they were very, very fat. I've eaten most of them, even though I gave my hungry Pooch a quarter of them. People there were as friendly as they could be. Some tables sit outside the restaurant for the kitchen with frescoes. Unfortunately, there is not much of a look as it sits in the middle of a small stripe mall in the middle of Punta Gorda. As I have already indicated, this restaurant is really set up for business people looking for a quick lunch."
