"Firstly, the shrimp I received had a terrible, off-putting smell. A lesson learned: always smell your food before eating it! Unfortunately, a few hours later, I ended up being sick, which I suspect was due to the shrimp. After I returned the shrimp, I decided to order shrimp lo mein, thinking they wouldn’t serve me bad shrimp again. Sadly, I found a piece of metal in my lo mein that I actually bit into after eating most of the dish. While the lo mein itself was tasty, the discovery ruined my experience. I informed my waitress and even took a picture of the metal, but I didn’t receive any apologies and was presented with a bill that didn’t reflect my issues. Given my history as a regular customer and having had both spoiled shrimp and metal in my meal, I felt I deserved at least a partial compensation. When I approached what I thought was the owner or manager, he offered to take $10 off my bill after a brief discussion. Despite explaining my loyalty as a long-time customer, he seemed irritated and ultimately said he would remove the entire cost of my meal. The woman with him, presumably his wife, became very upset, slammed the table, and started speaking in their native language, clearly angry about the discount. The exchange escalated, and after I used some choice words in response to her rude behavior, she threatened to call the police on me after I called her a "female dog" and criticized her customer service skills. Overall, while the food itself isn't bad, the staff doesn’t seem to care if they serve spoiled food or even something unsafe like metal, and they get upset when held accountable. I believe they also own Ming Ying in Long Branch, and I would strongly advise against dining at any of their establishments. It raises serious concerns about food safety and cleanliness, and I think a health inspector should be notified."
