Unfortunately, can’t rate the food. google shows that the restaurant is open till 3 PM. We showed up at 2:20 and we were told that they will not be able to serve us today because the kitchen closes at 3:00 so we just had to leave. Service: 1

Bistro Roca was recommended to us so we had lunch on a recent trip to Blowing Rock. Three is us had their burgers and one had pizza. Two of the burgers were not very moist, very dry, while the pizza was also dry and approached the consistency of a cooked piece of cardboard. The service was great and our waitress was fantastic. I could be persuaded to go back a second time to give this place another shot but it certainly would not be my first choice.

Stopped in for a late lunch yesterday afternoon. It was a 10 from start to finish. It wasn't at all crowded due to our arrival time and we basically had the back porch to ourselves. The house music was delightful and soothing and there was enough chill that they had the fireplace going. Our server Jessica made our experience even better with her pleasant demeanor and constant smile. We just wanted to relax and enjoy a nice meal as we were in no hurry whatsoever. We stumbled in here, thirsty and hungry, after a tough hike on a hot day and we were not disappointed! In fact, we stopped here 3 times during our week in Blowing Rock. Fun drinks and bartenders with fantastic food. We ate at the bar twice and I'm still dreaming about those eggplant frites!! We also ordered the Habi Mac Cheese and wood fired pizza and both were excellent. For our 3rd visit, we went to brunch, and I restrained myself from ordering the eggplant frites for the 3rd time. Brunch wasn't too impressive in my opinion. Not many things on the brunch menu but the pimento cheese and smoked olives were very good, we ordered the french toast and it was fine. After making a reservation a week before our trip to Blowing Rock, we arrived at the restaurant Friday afternoon a few minutes before our 1pm reservation time. We were seated promptly. Sadly, that 's all that happened. We sat. For more than 15-minutes in fact. No one came. Nobody brought a glass of water. Nobody came by to say, Sorry, we 're a bit busy. We 'll be with you in a minute. We apparently became invisible. We 've eaten at Bistro Roca many times over the years and have been pleased. It 's a nice restaurant (or at least was) with prices commensurate for this level of establishment. Look no further when visiting Blowing Rock. One of our favorite spots when we come to visit. Located by the beautiful park if you come early you can walk around the park or walk after the dinner and get yourself sweets from Wilkins. But let me tell you about the food here!!! My husband and I big foodies and have lived in NY and traveled the world and have had one of the best dishes. This place is on our list of best places to eat. Our waitress Julia was awesome and super sweet! We ended up chatting about food, nature and tattoos! We like to sample dishes and share them together.
