"One of the things that makes people fiercely loyal to a restaurant is history. If the place grows along with the people, it can start to take on a life of its own. But this is only one half of the equation- to have real staying power, an establishment needs to serve food that people are compelled to eat- food that stands the test of time. Enter Canter’s Jewish Delicatessen, a genuine LA landmark that is as famous for its celebrity clientele as it is for its Reubens and house-made pickles. It started in Jersey City in 1924 and then came west. Canter’s proceeded to grow with LA, and establish itself as an institution. We wet our whistles with a couple of cream sodas to start, and quickly dug in to our fat sandwiches. The Canter’s Special was corned beef with saurkraut, and it lived up to its name, and then some. We also enjoyed pastrami that was hot and savory, and about five different varieties of mustard that really made each bite unique. Matza ball soup is a must, and the crispy bagel chips accompanying it gave a nice crunchy contrast. The menu is huge here, and with so much to try, you’ll be coming back again and again. The world famous pickles were crisp and tangy, with just the right balance of salt and spice. The huge selection of pastries and sweets in the bakery seems to go on and on. Cupcakes, scones, bagels, loaves of bread, pies, muffins, rolls, tarts…it really is endless. As numerous rock stars and actors have found, there’s a lot more to appreciate at Canter’s than just late hours!"

I love the Reuben sandwich and the matzoh ball soup is excellent. Their pickles are super crunchy and salty. Just perfect. Service is interesting: Either rude or extra nice, depending upon who you get. Just ignore the snippy waitresses and enjoy great food. The bakery is very good, too. Rum cake to die for.

This is a historic Jewish deli. The chopped liver is incredible, and the corned beef is equally fantastic. Some of the staff have been around for years. They serve drinks all day and are open 24 hours, if I remember correctly. The desserts, however, could use some improvement. There's also free parking available. Canter’s is an essential part of LA!

Canter's was my first experience at a Jewish deli, and I even worked there for about six months, which was a lot of fun. It's a bustling place, massive in size, with waiters who have been there for 50 years! One of my favorite items was the pastrami Reuben, although I no longer eat red meat, so that's off the table for me now. I really enjoy their omelets, and while I'm not usually particular about desserts, I absolutely love their creamy cheesecake. The soups are also outstanding. Visualizza piatti

This deli is truly one-of-a-kind here in Los Angeles. If you're a vegetarian, I highly recommend trying the avocado melt—it's delicious! The atmosphere is fantastic, and you can find a unique cast of characters working here that you won't see at other Canter's locations. The technology they use is impressive; they manage the entire operation without computers, which adds to the charm. And who could resist the bakery in the front? It's a real gem in LA, and I've heard they also cater to Dodgers games and in Las Vegas. Where else can you get a corned beef sandwich at 4:00 AM? They are open 24 hours! The prices are a bit on the high side for a sandwich, but it's definitely worth it and stands o...

After I grew up in Chicago, I know good Jewish delicacies. To live in Wyoming, I miss it very much. Canters Corned Beef Pastrami Sandwiches were a real treat for this now-small-town girl. I even took some home for my brother's wife. The Corned Beef Pastrami are wonderful the portions are huge! The rye bread potato salad was nothing to write at home, but who cares if the meat is made right. We all loved the bakery products they made the next day an unforgettable breakfast. My Fave was the Hamant, a short-bread-like pastry that surrounds a beautiful apricot filling. Canter's menu is enormous — 7 pages from everything from breakfast article child food to classic deli entrees old-fashioned cockt...

"I never leave bad reviews when I can help, but from our experience last night I only had to say for dinner as a whole was so disappointing, the least and after the output it was just a complete bill. if they come here for a nice dinner, they have great food or steaks please skip. go somewhere else food: we ordered the oysters, lobster bisque, bread basket (the btw is) and the tomahawk steak with sides. the entire meal was nothing special, characterized by the fact that even though our server always say that its just come out of the often his hot we have the broth basket roomtemp and the lobster bisque as a think. none of them were served hot. I give these stars only because of the tomahawk steak in the middle well, it was delicious. it was a hope that it would be good, right? we ordered the familiar and the brussels sprouts, but it came out, served on small dust sacks. small portions. a little taste. Note: they no longer serve the special measurable and sauce for any steak order. bummer ambiance service: la boucherie is on the floor of the hotel so that the prospects in the night are amazing. server were nice and polite. they were attentive and very professional. everything in all, if I can turn back the time, I wouldn't be here at all. the evening has lost its elegance and prices do not justify the disappointing food. I hope they can fix this and bring back the old la boucherie charme and aromen."
