"As for my lobster special, which cost $60, it arrived with burnt toppings. Knowing my mother, I realized it would be quite uncomfortable to raise a fuss, especially since we had already waited a long time for our meal. Afterward, I spoke to the manager, but instead of showing understanding, she insisted multiple times that I should have notified her immediately. I tried to explain how upsetting this was, especially on such a special occasion. I also asked her if she would be willing to remove the charge for the disappointing steak, but she declined. Coming from NYC, where I have certain standards, I felt quite let down. While they ultimately took the steak off the bill, the meal itself was ruined, and the need to defend their service only added to our frustration. By sharing this experience, I'm sure I'll hear more reasons from them blaming us for not voicing our complaints sooner. I write this because I want them to understand that diners are paying not just for the location or nostalgia, but for a quality dining experience. As we’ve grown, it's evident that we don’t go out to eat just for the ambiance or memories; we expect good food and service."

the service was a little slow and it was loud inside. but we were right and eating was good. chowder could have had more class and kartoffels and reuben would have used more thousand island.

Meh..... great vibe , beautiful spot. I would suggest a drink and the view forget the food. Average at best and Overpriced. We made a poor choice to sit at the bar next to the service window blenders whirling and they used our space at the bar to fill glasses kinda felt like we were in their way , so why put barstools there? I heard the food was not good. Boy was that information wrong! We were six and everyone liked their meals. The chowder, the steamers and the crab salad sandwich were highlights. To say nothing of their mudslides which have been legendary for years. The view is nice, the parking is easy. The service was okay. All in all, put it on the list when in town, I'd say. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, but the prices are steep for the mediocre food offered. It’s unfortunate, especially since many locals recommended it, but it feels more like a tourist trap. The chowder was average, the soup was barely edible, and the so-called homemade cheese seemed to simply come from a jar and was served with stale crackers. The stuffies had a nice kick to them, so they were a highlight. Unfortunately, there’s little else to recommend, including the service.
