The food is exceptional, and the staff is fantastic. When will you be opening the bar area? We've been visiting Coalyard for over 40 years, and we love sitting at the bar. Karen is one of your wonderful employees.

I had an excellent dining experience. My coffee and ice water were always refilled promptly. The appetizers arrived in a timely manner, as did the rest of the meal. The waitress and host were very attentive. The food was delicious and satisfying. Thank you!

We decided back a couple weeks ago that we wanted to fly a fish roast. After a little research we found Coal Yard Charlies, the only place to be close to us serving fish roast. When we travel, we prefer to dine at local restaurants instead of chain establishments, so we chose this spot in Rome, NY. My only piece of advice is that if you decide to eat here, make sure you're very hungry—the portions are enormous! My husband ordered the fish and chips, and I went for the Monte Cristo. Neither of us could finish our meals and we practically waddled out the door, haha. This place isn’t fancy, but it’s very clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is good.

I had a fantastic time at this restaurant! The prime rib special was very reasonably priced and the portion size was amazing! My prime rib was cooked perfectly and I could help myself to the soup and salad bar as much as I wanted. The mashed potatoes were delicious and made from real potatoes. The Fish Eye Merlot recommended by our waitress was a great pairing with the prime rib. Unfortunately, I was too full for dessert this time, but I will definitely save room for it next time!
