"Jake and I had both received a buy one get one free coupon for a sandwich at Coop’s West Texas BBQ for our “unbirthday” from iBirthdayClub.com . We misread it and thought it was for a free sandwich, not a BOGO, but either way it turned out fine. Our lunch! It had been awhile since we’d been back to Coops and we hadn’t tried the sandwiches before. The sandwich deals come with one side plus a piece of cornbread. small boy pulled pork sandwich $7.75 This was our freebie sandwich and my choice. You can get either pulled pork or brisket for $0.75 cents more. The sauce is served on the side here and the meat really does stand alone. It’s flavorful, juicy, and really tender pulled pork. There’s some pinkness on the edges which shows off it’s smoke ring. The bun was toasted (looked like it was grilled, actually) and was a nice quality bun – they didn’t half ass it on the bread, either! I added a heap of their smoky sweet BBQ sauce to my sandwich and was in tasty heaven. The BBQ sauce added a nice sweetness and extra boost of flavor to an already good sandwich. Yum! For my side I picked potato salad. I honestly don’t remember what I thought of it, but I do remember liking the cornbread!"

Wish it was closer!. Easily the best BBQ in San Diego. I'd eat here twice a week if it was closer to me.

Coop's West Texas BBQ is my favorite barbecue spot in San Diego—it's the best I've had so far in California. It even surpasses some of the places I've tried in Texas! Although it's a bit of a drive from our home, S and I still visit quite often, and we're thrilled to see that the business seems to be thriving.

The BEST bbq i've ever had!. This unassuming spot is seriously the BEST real bbq i've ever had! ppl who know bbq will appreciate this spot. I rate this spot wayyyyyy ahead of Phil's and think it's a huge joke that Phil's has a crazy line while this place doesn't. It def should be the other way around! COOP's FTW! Visualizza piatti

I’m happy to say there is real BBQ in San Diego. I really enjoyed the food at Coop’s as well as all the other bloggers. I enjoyed it so much so that I went back after the crawl to pick up dinner for us. I took home a half rack of ribs, a pound of chicken sausage and a pound of rib tips (only available Tuesdays and Saturdays). You’ll actually

This place is amazing! We must be crazy to go to Lemon Grove because we're coming from Cardiff! But it's worth the distance. There were a few of La Jolla who came and also saw the reviews on yelp. Whatever. The barbeque is amazing and I had brisket and ribs and for my sides I had baked potato salad and beans. My mom had the same thing and she thought it was very good.

Coop puts pineapple in his baked beans, which gives them a sweetness without being too sweet and sugary. They were delicious, actually, and I’ll just go right ahead and say they are the best baked beans I’ve ever had. The collard greens were good, too. Nice big pieces, not tough and chewy, and not too salty. Good collard greens are hard to find, I think, so I’m glad Coop knows what he’s doing Visualizza piatti

I discovered Coop's West Texas BBQ through local food bloggers and the Eating Drinking San Diego Facebook group. When we arrived on a Sunday around 6:15 PM, the place was quite busy, with a line to order. We noticed that customers were leaving with their food in enormous bags. The best value appeared to be the knockout combo priced at $30.99, which included six different meats (totaling 3 pounds) along with two large sides and cornbread. The box we received was absolutely packed!

I must say, this is one of the best BBQ spots in San Diego. It's a good idea to arrive early to beat the crowds, as the restaurant has limited seating. Calling ahead for takeout might be a better option for you. They offer a variety of choices, including single plates, combo plates, family meals, and children's options, allowing you to sample different items from the menu. The brisket reminded me of the incredible BBQ I had in Texas. My husband couldn't get enough of the ribs and kept making satisfied noises while eating. My kids are a bit picky when it comes to BBQ chicken, but they finished their plates, so that's a big thumbs up! Thank you, Coop's, for a delicious lunch!

"Went here for breakfast recently and after many days decided to write a review. We arrived at around 10A. The line was relatively short with only a handful of patrons in front of us. The line to order took about 8 minutes, give or take. After looking over the menu I ordered the Pesto Avocado Toast and an iced chai tea latte. I also tried to order a dessert for later but they didn't have several of the ones I wanted so I settled on a cheese danish. We found a table right away and sat down. After a couple tens of minutes we started feeling like it was taking a long time. I looked at our receipt and noticed we placed our order 26 minutes prior (the receipt was time stamped). I decided to give them 4 more minutes before heading up to the counter to inquire about our order. They said that they were busy. And, just for reference, the patio was fairly empty and there were several tables available inside, so they weren't, in my opinion, 30 minute wait for food busy. Interestingly, right after i asked, our food came out. So either it was good timing or it was already ready and just sitting back there in the kitchen. Either way, 30 minutes is a terribly long wait for food. I'll only review my food. The pesto avocado toast was blah. The lettuce on top was shredded iceberg and, it was sad and starting to wilt and brown around the edges. It added no flavor or texture to the toast whatsoever. And it actually made the toast look quite sad and unattractive. The pesto was actually mixed into the avocado...weird. I don't know, but I expected the avocado to be smashed, the pesto to be drizzled over the top, the lettuce to be something else all together...the best part was the crumbled cheese. My chai was tasty, thankfully. Later in the day when i ate my danish i wasn't blown away, at all. The cheese portion wasn't very flavorful. Again, just kinda blah. Overall, if you're looking for a gathering spot, i guess this is a cool-ish place, centrally located. But the wait for food isn't great and i wasn't blown away by any means by the food. Edit: addition after response from business owner...I'm glad to hear you're switching up the lettuce because it was just not working. Hopefully the mixed greens will be better. To address the long wait, however, perhaps having more staff in the kitchen to accommodate for your unusually large amounts of door dash orders would be a good idea. Leaving people waiting for 30+ minutes is still, in my opinion, inexcusable. Especially at breakfast...eggs and smashed avocado shouldn't take that long. I've absolutely been to places that have been packed full and haven't waited that long. So I'm not sure what's going on in your kitchen."

"Located in a strip mall with ample free parking, Antica Trattoria 's decor has a cozy, authentic Italian feel with different textures and al fresco style paintings on the walls. There is some limited outdoor seating looks like seating left over from Covid days in the parking lot). The music was a little loud and non fitting, but the atmosphere was vibrant. The food was good and portions were generous. I always judge a restaurant by its bread and this restaurant had excellent bread! Very fresh and doughy I could have eaten the whole basket! The freshly made generous portion of tiramisu for dessert was also excellent. $13, May 2023) Service was swift and committed a few 'faux pas ' in my book. First, they removed my plate before my dining partner was finished and then the waiter verbally announced the list of desserts as said dining partner was still finishing eating their entree. We could only remember half of the desserts a paper dessert menu would have been appreciated). About 2 seconds after dessert was delivered, the bill was placed on the table without asking if we wanted coffee or anything else. I understand we had a 90 minute window in which to dine as is common nowadays in the USA), but we were well within that window. We would have appreciated not feeling rushed, particularly since it was Mother 's Day, a special occasion. That and slightly high prices were why I took off a star."
