"On one occasion, I picked up two breakfast bagels (bacon, egg, and cheese) for my girlfriend and me. When I got home, I realized there was only one sandwich in the bag. A few minutes later, I returned to the restaurant, and the staff immediately understood the situation. The owner, Laurie (Corey Laurie), was determined to ensure I left without any bad feelings. She even gave me a bag of their bagel chips and seasoning as a kind gesture. What could have been a frustrating experience turned into a memorable one, and I was pleasantly surprised, especially as someone who is usually skeptical about bagels!"

Food was fine, and service was acceptable, but barely anywhere to sit and enjoy your order.

A solid bagel option for Chicago. Their bagel sandwiches are excellent. I always order the lox bagel with a generous spread of cream cheese.

Almost NYC bagels. My reference is Issa bagel in Manhattan. A bit overpriced. Half dozen for $9 They need to work on their signs. They don’t advertise half/ dozen/ cream cheese prices Visualizza piatti

It was tasty, but way overpriced. In NY I get a BEC and I am full, this barely curbed my appetite, but I will say the bacon was wonderfully crispy. For what it's worth, I'm at the airport now and I can get breakfast cheaper.

Lox n bagel was pretty good. The salmon seemed fresh and the bagel had great flavor. The kitchen staff yells THANK YOU in unison for every person who leaves a tip. First experience here was just fine. Easy to get to on bike from the south loop as it's located on Dearborn.

I only tried the black and white cookie during my visit, and it wasn’t quite what I expected; it didn't have that authentic New York feel to it. I suppose the only true place to get a real New York black and white cookie is in New York itself. The bagels looked promising, so if I return, I might give one of those a try. Visualizza piatti

This place is a hit or miss. Lunch sandwiches are big with a lot on the inside which is good for the price but my bagel was stale and hard. The other day I went for breakfast and the bagel was perfect. So they might keep bagels for a day or two. If you add cream cheese to your sandwich it’s an additional 3 dollars. I would say over all it’s on the expensive side. If you stick to menu you come out shared but any add one like avocado, or cream cheese. It’s just a waste of money as they put very little on.

I used to visit the NYC bagels on Clybourn and North Avenue when I worked nearby. I remember getting the everything bagel sandwich with bacon eggs and cheddar cheese. I would get to work and unravel the delightful sandwich from the foil and we just thoroughly enjoy it. So I tried to get that same thing again this time. it was tasty, but it wasn’t the same as I remembered it. The cheddar cheese wasn’t melted, and the sandwich itself seemed a little bit cold where it used to be nice and warm. It was OK though and I was in the mood for a bagel sandwich. I was home visiting for the holidays.

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
