Dr. Limon Ceviche Pinecrest

I was served a different type of sushi than expected, and the rice looked like it was hard as a rock!

The portions were quite small compared to the restaurant across from FIU. It's not fair to charge those prices for sushi rolls that are smaller than what you can get at Publix.

Outstanding service and delicious food! However, the music selection left much to be desired. I can tolerate one loud and annoying NSYNC song, but playing the entire album was truly unbearable. A little variety would go a long way. Visualizza piatti

We have ordered from this restaurant several times in the past, but during our most recent visit, the food was tough and inedible. When I called to express my concerns, the manager hung up on me. I am really shocked by the terrible service we received.

I wasn't impressed with the food. The service was excellent, and the waitstaff were very friendly, but the food just didn't meet my expectations. I ended up leaving my meal untouched and went out to order sushi instead. If Messi were to try that sushi, he would be disappointed.

This is my second visit to Dr. Limon, and they continue to impress. The server suggested a Margarita with Chicha Morada, which was delightful, along with an incredible octopus dish paired with diced fried potatoes. The flavors were fantastic, and the presentation using dry ice was a nice touch. I will definitely be returning for more. First, let me say that the staff was fantastic. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. I ordered seafood chaufa, which came with only three shrimp, a few scallops, and some large slices of calamari that were quite tough. The overall flavor was quite bland. I tried adding huacaina sauce to spice it up, but it was not spicy at all and also lacked flavor. After tax and tip, my bill came to nearly $30, which felt way too pricey for such mediocre rice. I’ve had chaufa at Pisco y Nazca, and it had much better flavor, even though they also skimp on seafood. I won’t be returning.

I ordered the regular fish ceviche, which was delicious, but there was way too much cilantro on top. I also requested tostones to go with the ceviche, but they also had an excessive amount of cilantro, which I felt was unnecessary. My mother had the crab salad served over tostones, and thankfully, she loves cilantro. I understand that it's a common ingredient in Peruvian cuisine, but I think they should use less of it. When I told my server that I didn't want potato in my ceviche, he insisted it wasn't potato, but sweet potato. Seriously? It's still a potato! I just couldn't recall the Peruvian term for the kind of potato typically used in ceviche.

I absolutely love Dr. Limon. I've visited the location in Homestead several times, and it has always been fantastic with great service. However, I decided to try the Pinecrest location with my family, and I had a very disappointing experience. The service was poor, and the Chaufa rice with meat was not up to par. The most surprising part was when I was leaving, a woman who claimed to be the manager approached me in a rude manner and asked why I tapped my hand on the payment machine. I explained that it was because the food and service were subpar.
