"1 year update: My favorite restaurant, being a Lakewood local. Best joint around, hands down. The owner Vince Chere who will probably greet you are just amazing people. Come here, you won't regret it. Celiac safe too! Chere the one who took my order today and Vince, the owner, are AMAZING. I have Celiac disease so eating out can be hard and frustrating because not only my allergy to gluten but gluten free food that has been cross contaminated with food that does have gluten (shared surfaces, shared deep fryers, pans utensils et cetera) but NOT AT ZEST! Even though they are not a dedicated gluten free restaurant both Chere and Vince went out of their way to tell me what was safe (pretty much everything) and not only what was safe but how they were going to prepare it to make it safe, giving me peace of mind. I got the Pork Chop off the dinner menu and it was AMAZING! Zest is a small cozy place, bar, with great outdoor seating and a nice breakfast setting. Next time I'm trying breakfast and next dinner a GF Pizza. After this amazing first experience I'll be back again and again, probably tomorrow! If you're looking for well priced high quality food, Zest is it. Got celiac disease or on a GF diet? Zest is the best. Support this small business and enjoy some amazing food, service, and conversation. EDIT FOR SECOND MEAL EXPERIENCE Got the Buffalo Slider with truffle fries they used corn starch instead of flour just for my allergy, and fried in a separate pan. Amazing burger, HUGE too. Picture makes the burger look boring and fries look weird (mostly due to the cornstarch) but trust me that is the way it should look because it's the best GF buffalo burger I've ever had."

"We came here for dinner on a weeknight after a recommendation from a friend. The outside of the building is very uninviting and unfortunately appears to not be taken care of. I wanted to be impressed, but was disappointed. The staff was polite, nothing negative there to note. The vegetable samosas were not well balanced, too much pastry to filling and under seasoned. Next came the entrees, we ordered chicken tikka and chicken saag. They both were again under seasoned The saag appeared to be puréed or frozen spinach, so it disintegrated into more of a green paste. The tikka also was underwhelming with no depth of flavor. All and all it was just an ok meal, but I expected for the price and type of cuisine."

"I will always 5 star a place with White Queso like I can find back in the south. Everything here was fantastic but the queso is what brought us in, the rest of our experience is what will bring us back. We had two house margaritas for Happy hour, the small is under $5 and the 27oz Large is under $10! The queso was fantastic! Creamy, cheesey, just like I remember growing up in the south. Then we split the combination plate #17. Chicken enchilada, the sauce was delicious! Chile Rellano which is one of my favorites around now, I'll be coming back for that specifically. As well as a soft taco! Great service! We can't wait to be back!"

"Cafe Jordano is a hidden GEM! I've lived in Lakewood for a couple years and have always driven by it but never thought twice to actually go (it's tucked away in the same strip mall as a Safeway and looks unassuming from the outside but don't judge a book by it's cover After hearing multiple Lakewood locals rave about it, my fiance and I finally decided to give it a shot. We went in on a Saturday night around 8pm (also happened to be my birthday) and we found a great spot at the bar It was lively but not overly crowded which was perfect. The food was incredible (we got mussels in the spicy sauce and lobster ravioli) and the service was wonderful (our bartender that night was Cade and he was attentive and friendly and fun to chat with 12/10 recommend this place and I can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu."

"Where do I even begin? Last night was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. From the moment we stepped into this African Grill, we were immediately swept off our feet by the unforgettable service. I mean, who wouldn’t want a waiter who thinks it’s totally appropriate to call your friend an “African queen”? Such an original and groundbreaking compliment—definitely the kind of personalized touch you’d expect from a fine dining experience. The food? Simply divine. The spices were perfect, and I can only imagine they were selected by the very gods themselves. But honestly, who needs great food when you have such a memorable front-of-house experience? Our waiter truly brought a level of awkwardness that can only be described as art. Truly, his talent in making everyone around us cringe is a gift to us all. Despite the overwhelming charisma of our server, the atmosphere was amazing and the food was top-notch. So, if you’re into awkward moments and feeling like the star of your own reality show, this place is definitely worth it. 5/7 would recommend just bring some extra patience and a strong sense of humor."
