"First I want to say that I've been coming here since I was a little 10 year old boy. For the last 25 years we've loved and supported this place so much. Tonight I had a very bad experience with one of the managers( Tall skinny guy with short hair,blue shirt light hair as I stepped out of the way so he could pass. My son and I wear masks and do not eat in the restaurantbut we always order our food to go after our family eats. After we stepped out of the way for the manager and said you go aheadsir he gave me the worst dirty look and didn't even acknowledge me and then went 2 steps to the bar and talked with his friendsat the bar. We are just starting to come out of covid and ready to demask and had planned on coming to the brown bottle at leastevery two weeks from now on like we used to. Let me say though the owner is an amazing man who is very kind which is why I'mgiving three stars instead of one. He welcomed us to my birthday dinner like we belonged there. It is because of him that I willbe returning. Amazing owner and amazing food. Hopefully after my next visit I can change it back to five stars. I'll tell youthat never again will I step out of the way for that manager who looked at my son and I like we were freaks with completedisrespect. My child is diabetic with an auto immune disease so we have to be safe. I just wish we weren't judged in a place mygrandpa always took us to as kids."

"we have always managed to whiskey road when we come every year to cedar if for the iowa state trap meet, and we have never been disappointed. this can be our last time as a customer. the menu has changed and not for better. what, no primer rib? we all loved this really huge cut, and it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. bummer. the waitress was in order, but it felt like we were just a great inconvenience and that she could not wait until we leave. the thunfish has rarely been ordered, but we received good medium to medium, and when we complained, we were told by our waitress that exactly this is how the cook cooks it now. what? sure we could have smelled one, but when we finally got our meal, we were somehow flew up and ready to get out. we waited an hour for our main course. an hour. of the time we ordered, I checked and while we made a reservation in advance, we had to wait 15 minutes and it wasn't even a weekend night. you seem to slip, whiskey road. and honestly there are many restaurants there. very dissatisfied."

"Atmosphere is garden variety bar and grill. Their hook is having a huge selection of microbrews that they offer for reasonable prices. You can sample before you buy if you want but I didn 't so not sure if there 's a charge for that or a limit as there 's 100 choices or more. Service was great and friendly. We were there around 530pm on a Weds so it wasn 't busy at all. Prices were reasonable but a little on the high end. In our group the boom boom shrimp got high marks, the chicken sandwiches were okay and the fish and chips was a bust. That dish was under-portioned and under-flavored. Not recommended. Otherwise I 'd say these is a decent stop for food or drink but doesn 't do enough to set itself apart unless you want to try a wide variety of micros."

"I visited this restaurant with friends on a weeknight. Though it was busy, it wasn't overwhelming. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We started the evening with drinks and appetizers in the lounge before moving to the deck for dinner. We ordered a variety of dishes. The tartare was good, though the meat could have been chopped finer, and the toppings didn’t enhance the flavor much. The potato side was better enjoyed on its own. I really enjoyed the goat cheese spread. I ordered the pork chop, which had good flavor but was unfortunately overcooked. One of my friends ordered fish, which was beautifully prepared. I also appreciated the candied bacon. While the tuna had a delightful flavor, it too was overcooked. Overall, I might consider returning."

"The food was a fantastic! The chicken was juicy, the beer batter fries were phenomenal. We also got fried pickles and they were AMAZING! Best fried pickles I've ever had! You also get a lot of food for your buck. We are leaving full with happy a belly! I am sure you will too. This is also coming from a very picky eater."
