"We were afraid there wouldn't be anything we could eat because we avoid bacon, sausage, and ham. But we found lots of options. There was fresh fruit, yogurt, potato pancakes, Swedish pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits, hot dishes, and others. Beverages were included in the price. Service was excellent. We were hesitant about a buffet because buffets can be loaded with things that we avoid. But there were plenty of healthy choices. Yes, for those of you with no restrictions, there was bacon too. The dessert table offered small portions, so a little cheating could happen. Service was friendly and attentive. The bakery itself was usually busy. Many repeat customers, boaters and campers."

The pecan rolls earn a top prize in my book. The cardamom loaf is also outstanding.

All I can say is Yum! Their pecan rolls are to die for, but they have so many delicious looking baked goods, it's hard to choose. If I could have, I would have taken 1 of each home with me! Visualizza piatti

if they are located in this part of the half island, the bakery is one must stop especially for their pecan rolls. the only gluten-free product was the monster cookies. both delicious, but expensive.

The older woman who works here is absolutely charming. She took extra pecans from the tray and generously piled them onto my pecan roll. She's always cheerful and ready to assist. The cherry nut bars are outstanding!

We didn't stay at the resort, but we made a stop at the bakery, which is an absolute must! This charming little place offers a glimpse of history along with hot, flavorful coffee and mouthwatering baked goods. The friendly staff and delightful homemade treats are unbeatable! Plus, there are stunning views and a small park for the kids to enjoy! Visualizza piatti

I visited Granny's for the first time this morning and I couldn't have been happier. I ordered four cinnamon rolls and two pecan rolls, and they were incredibly fresh and delicious! The rolls were soft, and the amount of icing was just right for someone with a hearty appetite like mine. I might go back tomorrow while my wife is still sleeping. Shhhh, don’t tell her!

We decided to visit Grandma’s Swedish Bakery since it was one of the few places open early on a Sunday morning, and it definitely exceeded our expectations! We ordered a dozen pastries — four cherry turnovers, four cinnamon rolls, and four pecan rolls. The cinnamon and pecan rolls, which are advertised as being half a pound each, were truly impressive. The cherry turnovers were perfectly sweet with just a hint of cinnamon and spice, while the cinnamon rolls were enormous, generously frosted, and absolutely delicious. The famous pecan rolls were simply outstanding, topped with a gooey, nutty glaze and featuring the delightful sweetness of the bread. Everyone was eager to dig in as soon as we...

"Nestled within the picturesque embrace of Door County, an epicurean gem beckons discerning palates to an ethereal gastronomic voyage unlike any other. Wickman, a culinary haven that transcends mere dining, emerges as an unequivocal masterpiece destined to redefine the very essence of culinary excellence. From the instant one traverses the threshold, a profound sense of enchantment envelops the senses, as if one has stepped into an alternate realm where gastronomy takes on a symphonic dimension. The ambiance, an orchestration of warmth and allure, resonates with an enchanting cadence that unfurls a tapestry of possibilities, all imbued with an ineffable sense of significance. The elegantly choreographed ballet of the front-of-house staff captivates, a veritable maestro of attentiveness and hospitality. Their acumen in navigating the intricate constellation of locally sourced delicacies and wine varietals is akin to a virtuoso's command over his instrument, elevating each dish into a harmonious crescendo of flavors. A rare alchemy indeed, as they unfurl tales of terroir with unparalleled finesse, painting a vivid portrait of each ingredient's origin. Wickman's culinary narrative, a symphony of innovation and artistry, pays homage to its stature as a James Beard nominee, an accolade richly deserved. With unabashed creativity, the menu unfolds as a manuscript of ingenuity, each dish an ode to culinary exploration. Yet, it is the meticulous devotion to minutiae that forges the true hallmark of distinction. No detail is spared, as every nuance is crafted with an unwavering commitment to perfection. A span of three years bears witness to an evolutionary odyssey, wherein Wickman's prowess has burgeoned exponentially, culminating in a crescendo of culinary splendor. Within these hallowed walls, the confluence of passion and expertise intermingle seamlessly, casting a spellbinding essence that binds guests in awe and reverence. A resounding ovation of gratitude is due to the architects of this culinary opus: Luke, Isaac, the Madisons, Harrison, Matis, and the entire coterie who have devoted heart and soul to sculpting an indelible culinary experience. A pilgrimage to Wickman is not a mere dining experience, but an odyssey of the senses, an unequivocal triumph that demands homage whether one finds themselves ensconced within this idyllic enclave or endeavors to traverse distances in its pursuit. In sum, Wickman reigns as an imperious testament to gastronomic artistry, an oasis of epicurean grandeur that tantalizes, captivates, and beckons all who dare to seek the zenith of culinary gratification. An imperishable proclamation is etched upon the annals of time: a sojourn to Wickman is an odyssey unto itself, an irrefutable imperative for those who revere the profound symphony of taste. "Keep Googling for a better restaurant in Door County. Let’s begin with the UNwelcome welcome at Hugel Haus. We waited for the doors to open at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14. We were second in line and seated promptly. While showing us to our table, the hostess stated that due to volume, we only have the table for one hour. We ordered quickly and our food was delivered to the table soon thereafter. One entrée was the Rouladen nightly special $28.00). The menu states it was slow roasted; however, the beef had a very hard sear rendering it difficult to cut and eat. It was stuffed with bacon that appeared to not have been cooked prior to stuffing it in the roulade – it was rubbery and flabby. My companion ordered the Wienerschnitzel $26.00). She wanted to switch the demi glaze for the Rahm sauce but was told that due to volume, they would not allow any substitutions – no exceptions. The breadcrumb mixture was so salty it tasted like saltine crackers were used for the crumbs. The demi glaze was also overly salted rendering the Schnitzel was inedible. Both entrées came with red cabbage it was cold on both of our plates. We asked our server, Cody, if it was supposed to be cold, and he replied no. Cody stated that he would tell the kitchen staff to check the temperature of the cabbage so it does not happen to anyone else. He did not offer to warm up the uneaten red cabbage on our plates or bring us another order of red cabbage that would have possibly been warmer. The information regarding their policies of time allowed at the table and no substitutions is for your information. This complaint is regarding the bad food and food that was not served at the correct temperature and was not rectified."
