"I have been a regular customer to Gyu-Kaku in Kapolei. I have to say that this was the worst experience that we have ever had. The host was very professional. We arrived a littler earlier than our reservation so we knew we had to wait. We were fine with that. Once seated everything was going great. Then I found a piece of metal in my lava flow. Our server just disappeared and barely came around. We were only able to put in two meat orders (we were doing the AYCE premium 60). We didn’t get any refills for water or for our fountain drinks. Our grills was never changed. It was black and smoking but no one came to change it. The only reason we did the Premium 60 option was for the cheese wontons but we were only told after food started getting to the table that they were out of cheese wontons. We left after the second round of meats as we just lost our appetite."

Service by Ashley was attentive and friendly. The food was very good and came out properly paced so that one had everything they wanted without feeling overloaded. Dining was comfortable as you had enough room and diners were spaced out appropriately.

I tried to reserve a seat for two by some web pages, but it remained on mistakes. opentable had no problem in booking seats for us. it was fast. the next day when we came to the restaurant, we were able to sit quickly because of our reservation. it was a nice experience for a Sunday trip. We had a great time at our first visit to a Japanese BBQ restaurant. We opted for the all-you-can-eat option, which was a fun and pleasant experience for us as first-timers. Next time, we plan to try the a la carte menu. It was a fantastic experience and we highly recommend it to everyone.

had a good time at our first visit. we ordered the $45 per person as we did not know what we liked or not made like the basic ayce sense. we tried all the different cattle, most of the pigs, a garnel and a hen. plus gurkensalat fried gyoza. for the desert we had green tea ice cream and s’mores. we had a cold. the smoke took care of us. he's also a mechanic. we believe that the ayce was the right choice for us and will probably do the same at our next visit. Unfortunately there is no Gyu-Kaku near where we live, so we will be looking for them in other city.

"Dinner for 5 and for two people it was their first time eating at Kalapawai. Ordered beers and 3 pupu’s. Beer was cold and pupu’s were delicious. One of our guests ordered the steak and he did not finish it. He shared a small piece with us and have to say the steak was tough. The rest of us enjoyed our entree’s."

"We decided to visit this restaurant as it was conveniently located near our resort. My partner and I had recently transitioned to a vegan diet and were eager to try out some new recipes from a cookbook I had purchased. As first-time vegans, we were unsure of what ingredients to look for and sought assistance from the staff. Unfortunately, we quickly realized that most of the staff were unfamiliar with vegan products and the restaurant did not have many of the items we needed. We left with only some of the groceries we required and had to make a long drive to Whole Foods to find the remaining ingredients. The following day, my husband returned to the restaurant in a hurry to purchase a missing item and discovered that some of the products that the staff had claimed were out of stock, such as Extra Firm Silken Tofu, were actually available in a different section of the store. Ultimately, our experience was frustrating as we wasted time due to the lack of knowledge among the staff regarding the products they sell."

"It's become a Sunday tradition for us to dine out and order Eggs Benedict wherever we go. Although there are many options, we both chose the Eggs Benedict with hash browns this time. The food was absolutely delicious! We've been to other places where the eggs weren't cooked properly, but here they were spot on. The hash browns were perfectly seasoned and had a nice crispy texture, and the hollandaise sauce was divine! We placed our order at 11:40 and received our meals by 11:45. After finishing up, we paid and left the restaurant by 12:00. The service was fantastic; the staff worked well together and checked on us several times to ensure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be returning, and perhaps we’ll try something different next time!"

"We ordered regular pho and the oxtail pho. The pho broth was amazing, but they used the dried package pho noodles. They also limited the vegetables due to “inflation”. They have a sign up tell not to waste their condiments. They lost two stars due to that and service. They took our order and kind of just left us there. The whole restaurant (7 people) just took their break and started eating while we were there. I’m Vietnamese so I understood them. Not all restaurants that gossip means they are good, that’s a hype. It would have been two stars if one of their server didn’t come refill our drinks and brought the lemons that we originally asked for. It was only us and another table which was slow, but to just drop everything and eat when you have customers was unprofessional."

"During our walk to the movies, we stumbled upon this restaurant where we heard live music playing. Intrigued, we decided to stop in for some drinks and appetizers. We were impressed by the generous portions and tasty dishes. We chose sliders and the hoisin pork belly, both filled with local flavors and perfect for sharing. Although we didn't try any entrees, our server mentioned that they are served family style and are ideal for sharing. This restaurant is perfect for both small and large groups, especially for those who enjoy trying a variety of dishes."
