This restaurant, much like others have mentioned, is a higher-end steakhouse that offers excellent service and delicious food. It's a good idea to make a reservation, but you don't need to stress too much about the dress code; we noticed...

Of course, we had to have dinner here while in Solvang. It was only fitting given our visit to many of the wineries in the movie Sideways. Service and food were good. As a vegetarian, I'm not sure if I'd rave about it as much as some people do. While they had some great smoked veggie dishes, I'm sure it's the meat that the real draw.

Instead, we settled for small steaks on onion rolls, accompanied by grilled onions, artichoke sauce, and small dinner salads. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't what we were hoping for. The service was adequate. If you're in the mood for a steak and baked potato, you might be alright here, but don't expect much variety beyond that. Low-key but delicious steakhouse. They start you off with some veggies, maybe to clean your palette? No idea but I'm always down for some fiber. Their bean soup is completely vegetarian and really flavorful while the salad is pretty standard but still good. For entrees, I ordered the pork chop which has really great flavor and didn't seem too salty along with the baked potato. My hubs ordered the 10oz New York steak with the magic seasoning and that was really flavorful too. All in all, a solid steakhouse restaurant.

1. I thoroughly enjoyed her savory salad. It was fresh and delicious, and even though they already offered a mixed salad, this one stood out. 2. The steak and duck combo was exceptional—it's not often you find a place that serves both meats together. The steak was juicy and of top-notch quality. Plus, I appreciated the open kitchen concept, which allowed us to watch the chefs expertly cook the steaks. 3. The steak sauce is outstanding! The mandarin or orange-infused sauce complemented the steak and duck perfectly. It didn't make me feel overwhelmed by the meat, and I found it so enjoyable that I could have easily gone for a second helping.

The servers appeared disinterested, and the food reminded me of a subpar Sizzler, with overcooked and dry filet mignon and pork chop that resembled jerky. Our server made no effort to address our complaints, and when we spoke to the manager, it became clear why the staff seemed apathetic. During our conversation, the manager was dismissive and seemed more focused on shuffling his feet than addressing our concerns, offering only empty platitudes. We used to dine here regularly during our visits to the area, but after this experience, we decided to stop coming. My wife insisted on giving it another chance, but that was a mistake.
