"Truly a hidden gem in the Midwest. The price point and the quality of the food is out of the world. This place is so popular so there’s always a long wait. Come put your name down early in the day if you’re in the area, then come back at dinner time.I liked almost everything I ordered from them. The sushi are great, I do like the fish more than the wagyu. If you’re not early enough, they run out of a lot of options too. Yakitori wise I love the beef tongue and pork belly a lot, but not so much the short rib. The grill madai head is also really good and plenty of meat.I haven’t had a chance to try their omakase yet, since it’s a little hard to book, but their a la carte is already amazing."

Excellent nigiri and yakitori. We just came back from Japan and this tasted just as good and the delicious food we had there. Everything was fresh and wonderful. You must try the Wagyu sushi…. It is amazing!

I made a reservation at 6pm for my son’s birthday. It was so worth it! Amazing food and sake. Wonderful atmosphere and they even got a cake! Thank you so much for making this a memorable evening for my son. Everything was perfect!

Once in a lifetime experience when you get the omakase. Worthwhile. The chef is great, the food indescribably good, picture perfect, smelled wonderful, tasted out of this world. It's the kind of food that makes you feel good.Food: 5/5 Visualizza piatti

Kengo and his Band of Merry Men and Women are the best! Love it! Best Dirty Martini in town. Fish is fantastic. The Spanish mackerel is a dish I aspire to create and at home but just can't get it quite right. The coziness of the place is its charm.Food: 5/5

An absolute GEM of a sushi spot. I've had sushi and omakase tasting menus all over the US and beyond and Kengo is consistently one of my favorites. High quality ingredients prepared expertly. The bartenders also happen to be some of the best in the Toledo.Food: 5/5

The food is amazing! I’ve been to many sushi restaurants, including Nobu in California. And this place is probably one of the best. It’s clean, fresh and delicious. Kengo is a perfectionist. And his food is perfection. A must try! I would give it 10 stars if I could. Visualizza piatti

Shobu. My first time at either location. The menu is on the wall. There is not much of a selection but the items we had were very fresh and very flavorful. We sat at the sushi bar and had the best service from the friendly sushi chef and our waiter. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back.Food: 5/5

This is by far the best dining experience I've had in the last decade—it's truly an experience. Each bite, whether it's yakitori or sushi, is perfectly balanced and absolutely exquisite. The staff were fantastic, offering great suggestions and explaining unfamiliar dishes, while also keeping a watchful eye on our needs. If you're looking for an incredible dining experience, you must eat here. Just a heads up, I wouldn't recommend bringing a group larger than four, as seating is limited.

"Date night Saturday night. Our reservation was for 7pm, but we were falling asleep, so luckily they were able to accommodate at 6:15. : Only a few tables were occupied. Tall ceilings, nice ambiance, would have maybe liked some additional lighting such as candle light (or faux candle light . The weather outside was lovely and they opened the doors which gave way to French doors with iron railing. they were pretty! Our server mentions that the menu changes pretty frequently so we may not see on the menu what we read online. Fine by me, as you know from my reviews, I 'm always up for a food adventure. I had a gin based cocktail which tasted balanced. Spring Mushroom Mousseline, Pistachio and Drunken Fruit with Date Pecan bread. Mousseline served in a glass votive like ramekin (much like you 'd see foie , was tasty, creamy, albeit a little gritty from the pistachios. The bread came like a small loaf, almost precut (could have been sliced all the way through , with macerated cherry/cranberry compote. For a vegetarian option like foie, we were pleased and ate the entire portion. Scotch Olives with Saffron Aioli. These olives were HOT. No joke. A bit of, could you please blow on this before I burn my tongue? But, they were briny on the inside, with a perfectly coated fried crunch outside, and so yum once the heat dissipated. Nice touch on the aioli. Only 4 of them unfortunately... that 's 2.25 each! Rosemary Grilled Lamb Chops with Seedy Broccolini Salad with Cherries. Wood grilled carrots and pomegranate molasses. $39. Nice presentation. Crunchy but soft carrots, broccolini cooked perfectly. Seemed a bit on the small side as far as meat goes. Two double lollipops. Cooked perfect, and beautiful gamey taste, just not too much bang for the buck. Grilled Sturgeon, warm rice salad, fiddlehead ferns, snap peas. Not a fan of the glaze ontop, the fish portion was fine, but lackluster. I 'm a huge sucker for fiddlehead ferns, and I also know that they can be overcooked within seconds, which these were just slightly overcooked, lacked the snap in your teeth you get from a bright green cooked correctly one. Oh well. With everything in one bite, it was good, just not amazing. We shared the Mexican hot chocolate warm brownie/cake in a cup. The foam was nice, but the inside really reminded me of a fudgy cake you can buy in the grocery store, add water, and nuke in the microwave. Next time, happy to go back just for drinks and apps. Skip the more expensive main courses on their menu."
