"This place overpriced and the some of the raw fish was questionably old. I barely got fed for close to $40 and I never even got asked if everything was alright or got more water when my glass was empty halfway through the meal. I will never go back to Inaka—probably they should call it It’s Kaka. There are so many restaurants in Monterey, Salinas, Seaside and Marina that are better! Fresher fish, friendly service, generous portions, and more flavorful rolls. I was raised in Japan and bento boxes and tempura, sushi/sashimi and the attendant side dishes are my comfort food. I travel and have sampled sushi restaurants from Canada to Montana including Hawaii and Washington, Oregon and Idaho. In the Monterey Bay Area there are at least 5 restaurants that are much more like what a Japanese food lover wants."

"William, totally awesome and friendly bartender! He ensured every customer had a fun memorable evening. Regardless of what friends or you own FAMILY might say, try a flavored frozen margarita (plan on wanting a second). The nachos supreme with carne asada, nummy num-num!!! I'm already looking forward to my next visit home so I can come back. Get off the highway, enjoy the historical San Juan Batista and find this place, it won't disappoint."

"This is such a warm, welcoming place each time we sit at their table. My boyfriend and I were on our way home from the San Jose Airport, and we stopped in for dinner . We like sitting at the bar and Lupe was very nice and mixes/mixed a very nice margarita. Always consistent, flavor is so good, and we 've tried several different flavors. My boyfriend ordered the Wings, I had a combo, crispy taco, and cheese enchilada w/rice and beans. Wings were deliciously moist and crispy. My combo was as well. The shredded beef crispy taco was crispy, not a soggy mess when I picked it up. The rice, nice and fluffy,beans were very tasty. Their cheese enchiladas are always good. I opted to take it home because I was getting full. We had started with chips and salsa w/an order of guacamole while we sipped our margaritas. Several options for dessert, the chocolate mousse that we shared, was nice and light. Just the perfect ending. It was the perfect Welcome home."

"I've tried a diverse range of their offerings, both drinks and food, and I have no complaints whatsoever. Everything is first-rate. The service is outstanding, and I really enjoy the events, art, open mic nights, and the overall atmosphere. I give it an 11 out of 10 and always recommend it!"

"If you find yourself in downtown San Juan Bautista, you absolutely must visit this restaurant! The homemade dishes are incredibly delicious. The house wine, bread, soup, beans, salad, and lamb perfectly complement their signature duck dish. While everything may seem simple, it genuinely feels like you're being welcomed into a local home with authentic hospitality. I opted for the roasted lamb, which was seasoned with special spices. It was so generously portioned and tender that I ended up eating it with my hands! To top it all off, we treated ourselves to some ice cream for dessert. This is a fantastic spot for families and friends to come together. I highly recommend it!"
