"No Complaints! Excellent Service! We showed up News Year Eve around 3pm. The place was busy but there was availability for 4. Score! No wait. Emma and Ryan provided excellent hospitality. We really like that their POS system is mobile. I had been searching for a good place in the Finger Lakes that serves Central Texas style sliced brisket and Nichol's get 5 Stars for providing! While eating I danced in my chair a little bit and made a lot of happy sounding eating grunts and moans. I had positive flashbacks of my times eating at Hard Eight BBQ in Stephenville, TX. Thank you Nichol's for helping me relive those BBQ eating memories. We ordered 10 smoked wings (big tasty wings and legs from mature birds), Brisket (wonderfully smoked and sliced the way it's supposed to be), Ribs (falling off the bone, yum), corn muffin (more like corn cake, yummy!, especially with the cinnamon butter), fries (crispy all over with a soft center), and pickled onion rings (1st time and they were very enjoyable). 2 ginger ales no ice. Who needs ice? Looking forward to trying out the other location at Watkins Glen. Thank You Nichol's Pit BBQ! -Joe (I'll be back)"

A great little BBQ joint. The staff was very friendly and informative. The food would make any Texan proud as it had great flavor and portions.

Have called there 4 times in a week between the hours of 5 and 6:30 pm and wanted there number 1 appetizer pig wings and have been sold out!! Do they only make 10 of them a day ? Won't be trying to order anymore... place is a joke

Holy shit. Best BBQ I've had in my life. I got brisket, smoked turkey and pig wings with an everything dry rub. Fair warning; try your pig wings before you dip them in the included ranch, they're PERFECT as is. Anyone dipping them should be arrested for a food based hate crime. Bravo Nickels p.s. we also ate at Nichols and Watkins Glen a few years ago..also amazing. Food: 5 Visualizza piatti

Regarding the sauces, the Carolina sauce was sweet and very mild, lacking much depth. The house BBQ sauce had a rich flavor, but I felt it was missing something. There was another BBQ sauce—which I can't recall the name of— that had a nice vinegary base and was quite enjoyable. We also ordered the onion rings and three tacos. The taco special at $3 per taco is a great deal compared to other items on the menu. My personal favorite was the pickle barrel, and the onion rings were outstanding. I loved the beer batter, though I wished they were a bit less greasy. Overall, I would definitely come back to try more items from the menu.

For wings, there are plenty of options to choose from. I tried the dry rub BBQ (10) and the chipotle honey mustard (10), and both were delicious. I appreciated their crispy texture. The brisket was served as nice, thick slices that had a good amount of smoky flavor. However, I felt it could have benefited from a bit more smoking time to make it more tender. As for the ribs (not pictured), they seemed either steamed or boiled. While they did fall off the bone easily, I prefer my ribs to have a smoky flavor and a bit of resistance when I bite into them. Additionally, I like having the barbecue sauce infused onto the meat rather than served separately. These ribs came without sauce, and you...

We were hungry and bbq sounded good. Well it was Taco Wednesday at a bbq joint. My wife and I each ordered 3. I had fries and we shared a fried pickles appetizer. Oh don't forget the margaritas. The pickles were the best fried pickles I've ever had. And they were a first for my wife. She loved them. House pickled and cut thick, then deep fried to perfection. Taco's were great we didn't have one we didn't like, but the loaded brisket taco was the best. Great margaritas not too sweet, and enough tequila to get a nice flavor. Paul was our server and was the perfect blend of attentiveness, professionalism, and friendliness, without hovering. Definitely added to our experience. We left stuffed and... Visualizza piatti

I came upon this bbq restaurant after leaving another bbq joint in the area, that was not so good. This is a small restaurant so it gets crowded pretty quickly. I was greeted and seated immediately with a great attitude and smile from the hostess. The very hospitable waiter helped me to choose my meal. The hot and ready to eat food probably took about only 10 minutes or so to come out. First thing I wanted to taste, was the french fries to make sure they were fried crisp and not soaked in oil, they were light crisp and fresh. The ribs were very tender, although I could not taste the seasoning too well, but who needs the added salt anyway, right?! The wings were prepared just right, they disp...

Came here for a late lunch/early dinner after driving a few hours from Long Island so we were all very hungry! We must have walked in at the perfect time because our wait was only 15 minutes, meanwhile everyone else who came in after had at least a 40 minute wait. We did a quick walk around the quaint town while we waited. Once we sit down, the waitress came over quickly and we ordered. I got the quarter chicken, fries and mac salad as well as the 2 little corn muffins that come on the side. We also ordered a side of onion rings for the table and I was so glad we did because they were some of the best onion rings I have ever had!!! They were large and crispy and had a little hint of salt tha...

"The service was great, waitresses were attentive, funny, patient, kind, great with kids! But the food... I don't know. To start, the water was horrible tasting, our toddlers wouldn't even drink it, ive never had that happen with water before lol! They probably should invest in a water purifier considering the revenue they are bringing in. The salad I got as a side was partially rotten, soggy, not crunchy, some pieces were completely rotten and slimy, falling apart, it was pre bagged and left open for I don't know how long, it didn't seem cold either. The carrots were wilted and turning brown. It wasn't safe, and puts people who are immune compromised(older, pregnant, cancer treatment, ect) at risk of serious illness. The burgers were amazing, SOOOO good, lettuce and tomatoes fresh, flavor incredible, but they weren't fully cooked. They were pink inside, which I was okay with, but not what I asked for. Again, just like before, this is a serious risk for elderly people or people who are immune compromised. I am not impressed and I'm borderline concerned about the competency of the cooks feeling comfortable serving food like this. I am not a picky person, but when I'm spending money to eat at a restaurant, i do expect basic fresh food and food fully cooked like requested. It didn't feel exactly clean and the lay out was confusing, multiple registers and booths, it didn't make sense. Thankful for the great service we got though, I didn't complain to our waitress because it's really not her problem the place she works has low standards. She, and the other waitresses were on top of their tasks and we didn't want to disturb them, they were great!"

"The food was very flavorful, the ingredients were fresh and good, but each dish except the Spring Rolls felt thin and excessively spicy. I like spicy food, but we ordered medium heat and hot torched. Again, I do not mind spicy but when I don 't ask for arson it is just not cool to throw flaming gasoline around casually. I had a nice spice bubble but it was undesired. Tom Kha Gai was very tasty, but the coconut milk seemed very light. Panang Chicken Curry was also very tasty, but the broth was also on the light side and instead of coating your tongue with the typical dense broth, the heat burst through and you were rewarded by tiny bits of chopped up veggies instead of broth. Almost weird, but the flavor was good. Just *not* Anthony like I have had in Thai food on any continent so far. (Maybe they serve it like this in Antartica because to is so cold...? Spring Rolls were handy to calm down the heat... The fried banana was not my thing at all. I think the fried dough was too dense versus a thiner/lighter dough like croissants use. Go here if you need the endorphin rush. You will get that for sure. Overall, a weak interpretation of the Thai food I have had in Thailand, the US, and Australia. Taste is good, but heat is too much when you ask for MEDIUM and they seem to be playing skimpy games using heat instead of ingredients..."
