"In my experience, there's only one restaurant that serves decent crinkle-cut fries (the same one that’s currently closed for lunch), and unfortunately, Olde Cedar Inn joined the list of places with unsatisfactory fries. While they were cooked adequately, they lacked any flavor. Thankfully, there was ketchup available on the table, which I found essential, even though I usually don’t use it. Other potato options were offered, but I regretted not choosing something different since potato pancakes weren’t on the menu. This omission cost them a star in my rating.
The breading on the haddock was indeed crispy, but it also soaked up quite a bit of oil, leaving the dish a bit greasy. I was surprised by how much the breading overshadowed the flavor of the haddock itself, which is typically a flavorful fish. I didn’t hate the meal, but I certainly didn’t love it either.
I also noticed that there were no measures to ensure social distancing among customers, and neither of the two staff members I saw wore masks at any point during my visit. As I've stated in previous reviews, I don’t mind if individuals choose not to wear masks for their own protection, but it’s irresponsible to neglect the safety of customers. The restaurant was relatively quiet when I arrived, but as my meal progressed, more guests came in, and the staff repeatedly seated them right next to each other instead of spreading them out.
Now that I’m writing this review, I’m reminded of why I’ve decided not to return. I hope others will also think twice about visiting Olde Cedar Inn."
