"We had dinner there on Sunday. From the reviews I had read, I had high hopes but was sadly disappointed. The menu felt limited and without broad appeal for our group. I ordered 2 fondues for the table our grown kids love cheese which was good but at $33 per, I thought pricey for an appetizer. Then there was one seafood main dish—cod—one meat— strip steak steak frites. Fries were spectacular steak was meh. We didn’t try the vegetarian main course—ratatouille. For 4 adults, no desserts, one glass of wine $12 and 20% tip, the total was $250. Not inconsiderable."

We were served complementary champagne in honor of my birthday; Service was better than any I have ever experienced — — attentive, knowledgeable about wine, professional, courteous; food fabulous. Rack of lamb done to perfection; Ambience relaxed, no loud or tacky music; very civilized high end, but the quality of food and service was well worth it. Beautiful sunset view."

"I just wanted to share a short but meaningful moment we had at Allison’s. We have been coming to Kennebunkport for quite a few years as it is a great gathering place for our family. We understand the strain on the service workers during their busiest time, but we appreciate their hard work as they all make our stay in Kennebunkport very special. We stopped in to Allison’s for a late lunch, our group consist of 12 people, so we always ask two tables. As we sat and enjoyed lunch, I struck up a quick conversation with a couple at another table that was wearing a Michigan State sweatshirt. I gave her the “Go Green, and she responded “Go White”. As they left we talked about our connections to the school and our stay in town. A few moments later the bar tender came up and said that Ashley the General Manager (who we struck the conversation up with) covered a round of drinks. We then proceeded to have a great conversation with him and the history of Allison’s. Point to all this…though these business are in the heat of there season, attending to all the guest that come and go, Ashley and the staff of Allison’s are the perfect example of why we continue to come back year after year, bringing our adult children, and their children."

"10 10 for atmosphere and staff but the food just didnt match the atmosphere. We reserved a fishing shack (super cute for a.date night there is a $25 charge for an hour, I didn't notice this when making my reservation but still less than private igloos elsewhere. We had the last reservation (reservations are for 1 hour and you will be asked to move to the bar indoors at an hour if still dining and were informed it was last call upon seating so we ordered our 1 drink an app to split and smaller main courses (Fried Chicken Sandwich and a Caeser Salad. Again, super cute and cozy in the fishing shack dinner for 2 came in just over $100 with the reservation fee for the shack. It was snowing when we arrived and it turned to rain, the sound on the tin roof of the shack only added to the coziness. Unfortunately, the rushed feeling took away from the intimacy, worth a visit but wouldn't make it a regular stop."

"What a happy and welcoming place! This is locally very popular, and the locals seem to sit at the bar, but we are not local and felt very well-received. The food is really, really good. The only meh dish was a small plate of seared tune which was overly complicated and a bit short on taste. Everything else was first rate. What was called a small plate of deep-fried artichoke hearts (which also apparently had some fiddleheads included) was tasty and generous. The squid ink fettuccine was exceptional and a generous portion for a plate designated as medium size. It had four large shrimp, six large mussels and in-house made pasta which was perfect. My wife said the fish and chips was among the best she has ever had, though the portion (listed as a large plate) was enormous. There is also one of the longest lists of craft cocktails we have seen anywhere. This was a first-rate dining experience and we look forward to returning when we are next in the area."
