River: A Waterfront Restaurant And Bar

I visited to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and we had a wonderful time! A big thank you to Trish for making the occasion special and enjoyable.

Had a wonderful birthday lunch for my 92yo mother! Pleasantly greeted, wonderful table, friendly waitress (Bree), good food, nice background music without being overpowering. Lovely day looking at The Connecticut River!

We didn't receive our drinks until after food was delivered and had to remind our waitress. My dinner was barely warm, probably should have sent it back. With that said I liked that the tables weren't crammed together as in other restaurants and the view was great. Visualizza piatti

Food was good. It seemed that our waitress was over extended. She was polite and apologetic for forgetting to bring more water though. The restaurant was bustling. Several servers brought out food and checked on us so that was good. I've been before and the food is always great! Nice atmosphere.

We sat next to the window but should have sat outside with our coats on. Service staff was attentive and all participated to provide service when needed. Bar area looks great for those who would enjoy that. Take out containers are needed due to the size of the portions. We all shared our one dessert selection.

Although this restaurant boasts a nice spot and great view on the CT river, that's about all. The food is mediocre at best. The place is dirty. The waitress clothing was filthy. It was a Sunday at 1pm. The home fries with my eggs benedict were cold and stale tasting. I asked for them to be replaced with hot french-fries when the manager came to visit the table, and low and behold we were charged for these. The drinks are served in very small glasses. The calamari were over cooked and too crispy, almost burnt. It was my first visit here and now my last.

We had a very weird dining experience here. We had multiple interactions with the hostess and each one was unfriendly and very uncomfortable. Not exactly rude but very cold and unfriendly. Then the waitress seemed very thrown off by the fact that we had children with us. The food tasted ok, not great. But the appetizer came out with the main courses and not all the main courses came out at the same time. One childs food came out and then ten minutes later the second childs food came. Overall just a strange experience. Lovely views of the river, but the restaurant has a lot of kinks to work out.

I went here today to grab lunch. Although the restaurant had plenty of open tables, we were told by the hostess, who barely greeted us, that they were not taking walk ins. Okay strange but fine. Before leaving and standing 2 feet away from the hostess stand, we started to look on open table to research where else to go and saw that there were actually plenty of open reservations at this restaurant at the current time. So I booked one for 10 minutes later. I walked back over to her and said I was able to book on open table, so are there tables then? She rudely said yes I 'm just following protocol Umm am I in the twilight zone? I get she 's just a kid, but what kind of place is this? You won... Visualizza piatti
