"Was really rooting for this place to be great, but sadly could not deliver. They are in a unique location and have an interesting view and decor which we appreciated. They serve beer and wine, no liquor. So my husband and I opted for a glass of the Obsidian Cab. We ordered the apple honeycomb salad to start that didn't arrive and instead we got our entrees and had to ask for the salad and actually, that salad was the best part of the meal. For entrees, I had the Pork Milanese and my husband the Lamb Mafaldine. The Pork was hammered! Pounded too thin, thick breading and over fried. I couldn't cut it with the serrated steak knife they provided it was like eating jerky/I had to rip it apart with my hands. The Lamb dish was okay per my husband. We cut the night short and went to another restaurant to enjoy dessert and after dinner drinks."

Four of us went to Second Set Bistro to celebrate a birthday and were very impressed. Excellent cuisine, great atmosphere, top notch service.

always a wonderful meal. the steak frites and pork chop were excellently prepared and the wine selection is fantastic. wonderful culinary experience.

the ambiente was cold and not very comfortable. the service was really arrived and friendly. the selections in the menu are few. but what came from the kitchen was excellent! wein is much too pricy. although there are some possibilities, such as the chakalaka of za, the tasty and fairly fair in the price. While the food was tasty, the service lacked; perhaps it was too close to closing? No table covering, runner, placemat, etc. so the utensils were placed directly on the table, a pet peeve of mine. Non diners walked in random photo shoot large, egregiously loud scene truly blew what little cozy vibe there was. So many choices in downtown Missoula, while Second Set was nice, probably will not go back.

Very interesting place located off the lobby of the old Florence Hotel so you need to wander in a ways into the building to find it. Background music was out of sync with the are deco vibe of the building, nit pick. The price point for Second Set is moderate. The pork milanese was very reminiscent of wiener schnitzel with an interesting cream sauce with greens. The Caesar salad was classically prepared with nearly a full head of romaine trimmed down. The house made dressing was perfect except there was a bit too much of it. Beer and wine only at the bar.
