Some food was somewhat over cooked. Food that was not was good. Out of some primary food I.e oysters. Service was good and restaurant was nice looking. For a first timer parking was a bit of a challenge until we found the back lot. One experience does not an opinion make. I will definitely go back for a comparison. The water tasted like straight mildew in a glass and when I brought it to the waitresses attention she said well I don 't live in St Albans I can 't control the water the burger I ordered was overcooked and the bun was burnt black the meat tasted worse than a freezer burnt premade patty and the fries tasted like fish so they obviously don 't keep a separate fryer for fish and sea food as they should Food: 1

Food was ok, but so pricey! I got about 5 onion petals for $3.75 and not all of them were large. Sandwich was a joke for over $14. Drink was almost $4. The entire place had a musty odor, kinda dark and dungy. The only good thing was the waitress. I’ve always heard Shuckers was a good place to eat. I’m very disappointed. A hidden gem, Shuckers, located in St. Albans,WV. They have an awesome surf and turf dinner. We were there for lunch. I got a cup of clam chowder and had the Crab stuffed mushrooms. Enjoyed them immensely. Hubby had the Slim Shady sub and bacon cheese fries.He said it reminded him of the Slim Jim sandwich from Shoneys. He always liked those sandwiches. Our waiter Matt was great. Me and my gf came for dinner around 6 easy parking out front and greeted at the door the restaurant was clean and smelt good waiter was very attentive my gf ordered fried cod and I order the seafood sampler along with crab mushrooms for our appetizer food was very disappointing no flavor and the sides we ordered were baked potato and corn both seemed to be cooked way in advance and dried out I'm just upset the place seemed nice just a little on the expensive side and the experience we had was not great

We were there for the Crawl-O-Ween event Saturday evening. Everything was great until a lady who had a drink in her hand and visibly drunk claiming to be the owner refused to let us back in.(for context I was the DD and completely sober) She stated the place was at capacity but was letting other people in. One member of our group tried to get back in so we could get the rest of our group and leave. When she entered the lady claiming to be the owner grabbed her and tried to pull her back outside. We all left and took our business elsewhere. To the owner of this place. Don't stand at the door drunk and refuse to let people come into your bar. That's just bad business. We was visiting for the crawl-o-ween event, we had been in the resturant most the night over $200 spent. But a intoxicated woman in a skeleton outfit claiming she was the owner/owners wife was at the door denying entry to one group of people. Even drug some other lady out who was trying to walk in. At first she said it was a capacity issue but when the cop showed up she said it was because they said something she didn't like. My entire party of 10 people left the resturant at this point due to her harrasing people at the door. She shouldnt have been there intoxicated to begin with.
