"If you have any connection to Russia, Central Asia or Eastern Europe, Taste of Eurasia is your stop for staples. Tucked away in a tiny brick building near Potomac Yards, their menu is diverse. They sell sambusa (pies filled with beef, chicken, veggies, etc), honey cake, khachapuri, etc.I stopped in for lunch on a Friday around 11:30am and they were almost out of sambusa. I ordered three different kinds and the beef was the most flavorful. The honey cake is a bit dry, but delicious. If you want a khachapuri, call ahead. They don't sell it for walk-ins."

The number one reason I go to the Farmers' Market in Old Town. My Saturday mornings are not the same without their veggie samosas. :

The vegetarian khanuma and sambusa are excellent. The desserts are wonderful. One of the best places to get freshly prepared food in Del Ray. Would love to see a sit down cafe added to the storefront!

A hidden gem in Del Rey. The meat pies are amazing (everything is though, honestly). My dad is moving back from Germany and cannot stop talking about how excited he is to finally get some Taste of Eurasia! Visualizza piatti

This restaurant serves the best Eastern European desserts in the entire DMV area, according to a very discerning Russian customer (me). Shohina and her husband are skilled cooks who are also highly organized and accommodating.

Love Taste of Eurasia. We get lunch there often and nothing disappoints. Everything is made from scratch, Shohina is so sweet and puts her heart and soul into this wonderful little business that is now brightening up Potomac Yards/Del Ray.

These are by far the best cookies and sweets I have had in years! They are much better than anything you can find in any stores or even the best gourmet shops around. They are not just home made, they are even better than home made. I can not recommend this site highly enough!! Treat yourself and enjoy!! Visualizza piatti

I recently ordered the chocolate chip cookie. To my surprise, they were huge! I ordered them on a Sunday night, and received them by Wednesday. They were fresh and sealed tightly. The texture of the cookie was somewhere between a soft and a hard cookie. It was very flavorful, and was very popular during the holidays.I can't wait to taste my next cookie!

I ordered the classic, good ole chocolate chip cookie. They were absolutely amazing. I took them home for Christmas, and they didn't last an hour! I wish I had ordered more. Next year I'll be ordering 2 dozen. The cookies came in 2 beautiful, holiday cookie tins. Shipping was fast and none were broken. Each cookie had a good amount of chocolate chips. We've all been there... you buy chocolate chip cookies and you get cookies that have 3 morsels and that's it. Not here. Full of flavor. Can't wait to try some more!

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."
