"Lunch at the Main St Diner recently. Waited at least 45 minutes for our food…usually they are quite fast. Server forgot drinks. My lunch mate went into the restaurant 3 times to check why it was taking so long and each time was told “it’ll be out soon”. When the food finally arrived, I asked our server if our order had been lost and only then did we learn that “the ticket was misplaced “. The table next to us was seated about 20 minutes after we ordered and received their food before we did. I suspect that’s when our server finally checked on our order. After my friend had asked 3 times about our order. Hmmm. They were not busy…1 table of diners inside and 2 tables of diners outside, including us. Two servers and 1 hostess. Our server did discount our bill to the amount of about 1/2 off one meal. We were considering asking for one comped meal but okay. Additionally, as we seated ourselves after checking for a table with the hostess, I was adjusting the umbrella to maximize shade. This umbrella operates differently than the one I own so I was struggling a bit trying to figure it out and didn’t see the button on the opposite side. The hostess came out with menus, saw me trying to adjust the umbrella and said “Pump the brakes! There’s a button here!” Pump the brakes?? Really? Sounded rude to me. Could be she was tired but that’s no reason to be grumpy to a guest. Next time I have visiting guests, I’ll think twice about bringing them to the Main St Diner."

Our first visit. Stopped on the way to Mt Blue Sky. A 30 minute wait on a Saturday morning. They were busy so things were a touch slow but that's expected on a beautiful weekend day. The service was good and the food a notch above most breakfast places. We'll go back given the opportunity.

This place was highly recommended, but we were disappointed. Our server was painfully slow. People that arrived after us got their coffee and food before us. Our food was not served hot, and my biscuits and gravy had a paltry amount of very salty gravy on them. The bacon was overcooked to the point that they should have used it to make bacon bits. We were so hungry after the ridiculously long wait that we simply ate the food because we didn't want to wait for it to be remade and served hot. We were not impressed and will not be returning.
