Service was very slow. I miss the buffet you used to have for brunch but understand why you can't have it.

Wait staff was exemplary. The food Cornish game hen, trout and duck breast were prepared perfectly. Presentation of trout was impressive. Warm, friendly and upscale atmosphere. Outstanding wine list. Had such high hopes for this highly rated restaurant and in their defense the poor experience could be related to staff shortages. Our waitress indicated that we should order our appetizers and our meals at the same time because the kitchen was so slow. So that is what we did. Almost an hour after ordering, our appetizers reached the table. It was another thirty minutes before we had our entrees. The food was good and well prepared but a very disappointing experience. Make sure you have plenty of time before dining here. And really like the people you go with because there is a lot of time for conversation.

Greenbriar, where we have eaten many times, is one of Boulder's best. It is a country inn just north of town, beautifully landscaped, and with a staff that is always welcoming and accommodating. It has a main dining room, an intimate small room, a sunroom and a tree-shaded patio. The menu is filled with creative American choices, all wonderful. Tonight we had the trout and the Cornish hen, preceded by escargot and oysters Rockefeller. The award-winning wine list is endless. It was my husband’s birthday and we had a brunch reservation. We had never been to the Greenbriar. When checking in, the hostess took us to a table for that was inches from another table of with a couple already seated. I asked the hostess it we could sit at a table by ourselves and she said no they are booked completely. There were empty tables that would see from our table. All of these tables, including several in other rooms, remained empty while we were there Our server was good, although our food was lukewarm, on hot plates.
